That show had absolutely glacial pacing. I don't know why I watched the whole thing despite continually being bored.

Ridley Scott produced it but he only directed like 1 or 2 eps. Great show regardless. Real shame. I still haven't finished s2 so I'm part of the reason why they canceled it probs.

ya it had this weird issue in season 2 where fucked up shit would happen with no explanation for pretty much the whole season.

S2 did that thing where previous season finale suggested big changes, but then next season starts pretty much back to normal and dragging stuff out, until it throws random shit at the end again.

Darn this show was great. Really wish these networks would be smart enough to greenlight another season when they cancel so they can create a conclusion. I imagine people who stream shows get annoyed when they invest in one and it ends abruptly all the sudden. Like what is the point of even starting to watch one when the audience knows it is unfinished?

season 1 started promising but then i stopped caring near the end...

i didnt even bother with season 2 tbh.

Season 1 wasn't that great either.

I stopped watching shortly after the space Christians showed up. I'm not religious but the show reeked of angstheism to the point it was just unpalatable

Sucks for people who stuck with it and liked it, I fell off late season 1.

I'm suprised with all the hate for this. Guess everyone only likes watching Marvel Superheros films or Batman ones. Everthing else is trash to them.

It had potential.but then again not really.

In different hands it would have probably done better and been less cringe

which is why i never start new tv shows unless they're 4-5 series in or have a conclusive ending.

So.. can someone sum up the first 2 series for me? CBA to look it up online.

All I remember is the female android getting shot with bullets, ends up pregnant somehow and the baby is a flying snake she pukes out.

I watched season 1, it was fine, nothing to write home about.

Forgot about it and didn't watch season 2.

The pacing was slow, but it was an incredibly interesting watch. It feels like this got hit by the same curse as Carnivale (though in Carinvale's case, I think it was made at the wrong time---before special effects had advanced to the point where some of the supernatural stuff would have looked more real).

I'm a huge fan of the show, but one thing I did notice was that the special effects for some things (like the hover tank--woof!) looked horrible. Apparently it was a staffing issue at a VFX studio and RBW wasn't the only show impacted, but having the second season start with some really bad shots probably didn't endear viewers on the fence. The other problem was that I kept noticing that subtle plot points were just flying over people's heads on Reddit. The show was a lot smarter than a chunk of viewers were thinking it was.

The Ark was full of people practicing a made up religion based at least partially on a real religion that once existed here on Earth. They weren't "space Christians" any more than the atheists were real atheists. There was a lot more going on that you never noticed by dropping it so soon.

Yeah. I really enjoyed the first season. But didn't finish the second.

I'm not sure how you got "angtheism" out of the show when the one typically espousing the virtues of atheism is a robot that grows steadily more and more out of her mind.

if nothing else the show has some of the best opening credits ever
