My best-case scenario is basically living in some shitty subsidized apartment, alone until I die, or living with a bunch of roommates who will just make me even more anxious and scared.

Why?
  • Broke and in deep debt which I'll likely never be able to pay off
  • Cannot find a job to save my life, even after fluffing up my resume and having a natural knack for doing well on interviews
  • Cannot afford a car, while also being a very bad, anxious driver
  • Can't afford insurance; in significant need of general, mental and dental healthcare which would only put me in more debt that I'll likely never be able to pay off
  • Living in an extremely expensive part of the country that I cannot afford to relocate myself away from
  • Mental health issues that cannot be treated as I cannot afford insurance
  • No support system whatsoever

The last job I had was in fast food and it lasted three days after I received no training whatsoever and was repeatedly scolded for not knowing how to do certain things.

I've been looking on Indeed nonstop and a majority of the listings are for temp agencies; one of which screwed me over and strung me along for a while, last year. I used to be on UpWork but that's a scam.

I applied to an entry level "graphic design" job in the area and despite having used Photoshop and Illustrator for well over a decade, the interviewer basically told me that they can only trust people with professional experience.

If you don't have significant assets, can you do a bankruptcy?

Yeah, I feel this too. It sucks. My only possible suggestion is to get some kind of cheap certification / bootcamp and use that to get a job.

This also sucks, do you live in a town or city? Is a car absolutely necessary for you to go anywhere?

Why can't you get Medicaid? Does your job put you over the threshold or something? But you say you can't find a job, which makes me think you don't have one.

There may be free clinics. They aren't ideal, I know, but they are definitely better than nothing and can at least give you someone to bounce your thoughts off of. They may also be able to direct you to resources that you can use to improve your life.

Another good reason to seek out social services or free clinics. It sounds like you live in the US?

You should try to get on public assistance. I used to be when I was at my worst mentally and was able to get a psychiatrist and a therapist plus medication for free.

I've been trying to get on Medicaid for a while but in my state it's an incredible pain in the ass, and in my area the quality of healthcare you get on public assistance is abysmal.

I have skills, but it's impossible to make money off of them, or even get a relevant entry-level job. I've tried to make some money doing graphic design and freelance writing, but it never, ever worked out, ever.

TC have you tried looking into getting a government job? I'm sure it varies slightly by location, but in my state, there are entry level positions at pretty much every level (city, county, state and federal) that don't require much experience.

Like in my state (California), the entry level state office job just requires you to have completed high school.

Do you have social anxiety or are they just bad roommates?

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through, though. Hopefully I'm not being too intrusive.

I don't have social anxiety, which makes my anxiety difficult to treat. I don't like saying good things about myself because it makes me feel like I'm egotistical, but I'm fine, socially. I've just never had any good social experiences, and what little friends I've made in life have ended up treating me terribly.

Even typing that made me feel pathetic.

gotta say man, from the limited interaction Ive had with you, you seem to chronically view yourself as being victimized by others with zero personal responsibility for your own situation. Which may be true to an extent but unless youre just completely disabled you have agency for yourself.

Anybody who doesnt have a serious physical or mental disability can find a job. Even if its not a great job any job is a step up from no job, which is where youre at right now. Once you have a job you can focus on getting a better job and knocking down all your other problems like your debt.

This will sound like a joke but it's not: have you tried writing niche fetish erotica for the kindle store and self-publishing it? I know a few people who turn a profit doing this and they don't invest a huge amount of time into it.
