Don't think Fifa want 3 countries auto qualifying for a WC but they're still undecided on that matter. If Canda, America and Mexico do get the spots then North America will only get 3.5 spots instead of 6.

The way they have been playing so far this month, I'd be more inclined to bet them losing in the Round of 16.

Edit: Also, England were lucky to escape that match with a point. Germany performed notably better than them for most of the match.

I don't think that was a pen. Looked like Kane tripped over his own ankles. We might scrape past a last 16 tie if we get anyone but Holland. No way we beat Argentina or France if they're waiting in the quarter finals.

I will laugh if England get relegated in this league thing. All the talk was about getting game time against the big teams on the continent and we may well be stuck playing the teams that struggle to qualify next time out.

I don't think the host quota will be a stand alone thing. It will come at a decrease of the host(s)'s continent. So CONCACAF will have six, but three of them will go to Canada/United States/Mexico.

I think there's still a small push to force Canada to qualify on its own, but I don't think it has gotten much traction. I feel the hosts will always qualify unless we get a repeat of Euro 2020 where an entire continent hosts the World Cup.

Nice win by the Soccaroos - 2nd half was decently exciting. Not sure they can beat Peru though.

No matches were played yesterday, but today the Nations League moves into the third game for each of the 4 groups, starting with Groups B & C:

Canada vs. Curacao

Looking through Canada's schedule, I guess there was an International Friendly on their schedule, but it was cancelled, so, based on that, it's Canada's first game since completing World Cup Qualifying in March.

Meanwhile for Panama, can they build off the success of their previous win against Costa Rica in game 1?

Not sure what to expect from Canada, they are currently negotiating with the federation over the split for the World Cup prize and with the women's team also in the middle of negotiating a new contract the federation likely doesn't want to offer too much in fear that the women's team will ask for the same thing.

With Canada, we will see. It looks like Canada's match begins in about 30 or so minutes.

I still remember the days when Honduras was the bane of Canada's qualifying existence... ideally those days are behind us considering the recent respective Curacao results, but who knows. Honduras is at home and certainly is a must-win for them/try to redemption following the home loss vs. Curacao (would've bet so much money on Honduras not losing that, I mean it's friggin Curacao...)

Peru and Australia were in the same group of the 2018 World Cup, funnily enough, with Peru winning 2-0 after they were already mathematically eliminated, whereas Australia was still technically in contention.

So I'll root for Australia but yeah... CONMEBOL too good <_<

In WCQ, Canada had a 1-1 Draw and a 2-0 win against Honduras.
If Honduras can win could potentially be a toss up. Maybe a draw result might be more likely? Then again, Canada could have a bad day and lose as well.

Australia will have a tough game against Peru. I wonder if the venue in Qatar will make any difference?

Hope Australia and New Zealand qualify. Australia probably have the best chance of getting out of their group. Just depends on what France team decide to turn up and if Denmark are still in super saiyan mode.

France and Denmark should both be able to advance out of their group without much trouble. Denmark should still be in great form 5 months from now and you're underrating Croatia, Austria and Switzerland a little. France should be alright come November even if Denmark takes that group.

With that said, I also hope the Oceanic teams qualify, but I expect Peru and Costa Rica to win.

Nah i'm not underestimating anyone. France are just one of those teams that either do incredibly well or do complete crap. I'd put Italy in the same boat.
