Both arcade games are must plays.

The NES version of the arcade game is a simplified version, but just as good and has a few extra levels.

Hyperstone Heist is a diet version of TiT, but still fun for what it is, and most of the levels have been remixed in a way that feels like its own thing.

Radical Rescue Ive never played but is noteworthy for being very early example of the metroidvania genre

90s Konami couldn't miss. They're all certified classics, and I'm excited for this compilation. TMNT was my childhood.

The NES game is actually pretty fun, imo. But the difficulty is through the roof. Fuck the underwater level. Swim with Mikey, best bet (smallest hit box, I think?). The damn plants in that level are the biggest pain in the ass.

TMNT 1 is straight up ass.

TMNT: The Arcade Game (both versions) is fire.

TMNT 3: The Manhattan Project is the best NES TMNT game, period. Don't @ me.

TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES) is an instant classic, and improves quite a bit on its Arcade brethren.

TMNT: Hyperstone Heist is a good substitute for Turtles in Time, but it leaves out A LOT of what made Turtles in Time so great (for example, it's HELLA short, can't throw foot soldiers into the screen, and no where near as many bosses).

Tournament Fighters is a fairly solid fighting game (I prefer the SNES version, though).

While I didn't play the first 2 GB TMNT games, I played the FUCK out of Radical Rescue. That one's actually a Metroidvania, surprise surprise.

Honestly, outside of maybe TMNT 1 on the NES, every single game on that list is solid.

I haven't played any of them besides Turtles in Time, both the arcade and SNES versions. The SNES version is definitely the better one out of the two.

TMNT 1 is worth a look just to know. The fact that the Cowabunga Collection will have rewind and save states might make it a bit more bearable.

The Dam level is easy compared to the rest of the game.

What makes the game suck is the NES era slowdown and flicker. It's still a solid NES game for the time if you can deal with that. The difficulty does scale up pretty nice but there is a sub weapon that trivializes most enemies as long as you don't loose it.

Yeah, if you get lucky it's not bad, but those underground enemies hit HARD iirc, taking like a quarter of your life.

Level 4 might be harder but it has the easiest boss in the game. It's long and reminds me of death mountain from Zelda 2. Lots of different paths and places where you can screw up and die instantly.

I always assumed he was replaced with Groundchuck, the bull from Level 2, since they both have horns and a similar build. It turns out the artist wasn't told who was in the game and who wasn't.
