The thing that pisses me off about the second amendment being a 'right' is that it isn't a natural or really even needed thing to preserve life. We could have had the second amendment be for something more important, like the right to healthcare (mental or physical) or the right to housing or something, but no. Changing some names but off the top of my head these scenarios happen all too often: Jimmy and Lou are drinking at the bar and get into an argument and Jimmy heads out to his car and waits until Lou leaves the bar to shoot him. Craig and Mac are playing Madden 06 and Mac is roflstomping Craig so Craig shoots Mac. Derek is going door to door trying to sell chocolate bars for his school fundraiser and Old Man McKinley doesn't take too kindly to a mysterious kid wandering around his neighborhood and so he fires at Derek because Old Man McKinley is racist. Sara has been tailgating someone for 5 miles because she thought they cut her off and suddenly at some point Sara pulls out a gun from her purse and fires at the car and strikes a passenger. Tim and Manny got a bulletproof vest and thought it would be a great idea to test it out and found out the hard way that it's only good for a shot or two before it's not gonna do a good job anymore.
