G equals for kids more than general audiences. Studios avoid it because that image means adults and teens would avoid.

I'm not saying that less toxic gaming journalists would lead to less toxic gamers. I'm just saying there's no proof to the contrary.

G movies rarely are popular with parents unless they are well written and are thus more expensive to make than the tripe that gets popular for mass consumption. In addition parents rarely care about the rating to a point so being rated higher barely matters on that front. Also, Disney has bought out/destroyed most of the studios that make G movies so it has all condensed into a single entity that has a monopoly over the whole thing.

G is for babies, it's PG or bust, kids can handle a touch of swearing, edgier comic mischief, and more violence.

G is really low tier kids stuff like Barney the Dinosaur. If there's any kind of conflict whatsoever even if it's literally care bears then it's PG.

I found it interesting how the MLP FIM movie was PG rated, while the tv show was TV Y.

Somehow Toy Story 3 got a G rating and that shit had some intense moments, like the monkey security scene and the incinerator. >_>

America isn't the only country that uses G, PG, and PG 13.

"Mr. Bean's Holiday" might be the last G rated movie I saw in theaters. That was 2007.

Fun story. The use of profanity (shit and damn) in the 1986 Transformer movie was used to give it PG because no matter how many robots you slaughtered, it didn't boost the rating.
