Its just irritating reading your posts on most topics because of how self involved you are, and youre always so quick to criticize people under the guise of friendly advice. Theres just a large difference between sharing your perspective because it helps you contextualize your experiences to demonstrate relatability and simply having communication skills that betray your lack of self awareness.

@DespondentDeity that... was a much more well-reasoned response than I expected. I could maybe nitpick a couple things, but you make a good overall point.

The only other couple times I remember you calling me out, I do feel the other person was being a flat-out dick, but you clearly have noticed other interactions and not commented.

I will say this. I act pretty similarly here as in real life, but I have learned how to be really good with tone and mannerisms and such, so that I get away with my bluntness. My friends actually like me for it, and oddly enough, women like me for it. I am a very social person. But without that in-person facet, my "tough love" can probably make me seem like I am the dick.

With Heartomaton, I think our first couple interactions weren't the best for these reasons, but he has since learned how much I actually care about people, and knows it comes from a good place.

But obviously, not everyone knows me, so your advice is noted, and I do appreciate it.

Edit: one other thing, my sense of humor and sarcasm often fails when not in person, so I oftentimes get taken more seriously than intended

I've noticed that FB dating has a large amount of fake profiles compared to others, though. Probably on par with POF.

They're easy to spot, though. Usually modeling-quality photos of beautiful Asian women, but with a male name.

There are also a lot of profiles that, while they DO belong to real women, are only made to advertise OF and Snapchat accounts.

Also the app itself has technical problems, but that is neither here nor there.

Oh yeah, 1.5 hours of the 8 hours was making out. The funny thing is that the couple of times that I had sex with someone on a first date, the date was less than 5 hours :/ But that also shows that my absolute best first date did not involve sex, as it truly isn't the most important thing.

Ah yeah the car is clutch in this case, I don't drive which makes dating a little more frustrating since a lot of places are mostly accessible by highway and otherwise too hard to reach.

Doesn't mean there's no stigma, or that everyone behaves logically when it's brought up. Hell, even behaving logically can mean it doesn't work out. It's a logical conclusion to arrive at for someone to think "The risk is low, but there's still always a chance, and I really dont want that disease". I can't fault anyone for that.

She herself was a bit taken aback when I told her, because she has a weak immune system, along with some of her own medical issues, and this could complicate things.

In the end though, she decided to try me anyway, although she wants to wait a while before we're intimate, which is totally fair.

I can't believe you guys have talked so much before a first date, but I guess that is a good idea when it is a 3 hour drive! That's crazy. But I guess if it works out, you can visit each other on weekends, right?

Of course. I recognize that anyone who dates me is making an investment, which is always a risk, and not one that a lot of women are willing to take, in my experience. They have to believe me when I say that my mental disorders will be fixed or suppressed in time, my unemployment is temporary, and that having me in their life will be a net positive. I do aim to make good on all of those things, but I can't think less of any women who aren't willing to take that risk.

So, talking at length is extremely important before I make any concrete plans with someone.

But I guess if it works out, you can visit each other on weekends, right?

That's what I'm hoping. I just hope that she's cool with coming to me sometimes, if for no other reason than that traveling on a fixed income is difficult, especially with current gas prices. Plus, while I certainly have no real love for my hometown, there are a few places here that I'd love to show her.

Also, you never know how long it would be before intimacy. In my experience, it is always less than they state it will be. Assuming it happens, of course.

I'm not worried about it. At this point, getting her to like me enough to want me to become a significant figure in her life is what's most important to me. Sex can wait.
