Why retire a cow that was heavily wounded by the sequel when you can still milk it?

Show coming to HBO obviously. They wrapped filming like a month ago or two.

From what I understand its more of a complete edition for the story.

TLOU1 remade with Part 2s gameplay improvements. Left Behind included where appropriate in the story. TLOU2 bundled in, and transitions seamlessly into the story.

A remade multiplayer experience from the ground up.

So its less of a remake of TLOU1, and more of just a definitive way for anyone to experience the series. The entire thing, all as high quality as possible, in one package. With an expanded multiplayer to boot.

Remaster being that high is expected as it was bundled in with the PS4 pretty much at launch.

So I went and looked it up to double check.

The sequel is the 12th best selling at 4 million.

The first game was 3rd best selling on PS3 at 7 million.

So uh, yeah about the "best selling" bit you mentioned.

In what world is the 3rd and 12th best selling titles not considered "one of the best selling" titles?

They're both in the top 1% of best selling titles on their respective platforms.

Perhaps it depends on what you consider "best selling." I usually look at top 10. *shrug*

If you take the multi-plats out, the sequel is still 9th place. 8th place if you remove the remastered first game.

So a drop where the first game was top 3 in it's respective console to number 9 or 8 of 10 on the sequel's respective console is like taking an axe.

This would be my big reason too. Launch with the show with new PS5 features with an extra chapter that bridges between 1 and 2.

the time between now and the launch of 360/ps3 is now the same as that between the launch of 360/ps3 and SNES/genesis

Uncharted 1 is as old now, as A Link To The Past was in 2007 when Uncharted first released

I should say this is what Ive heard online. No sources.

I am sure that certain parts of the remake will be vastly different, maybe even changing a character to suit a new narrative as TLOU 2 clearly had a message.
