Sony does what they always do: make an inferior copy of a competitor's product way too late in some desperate attempt to show that they're "with it" too.

The one thing I'll say about the games library is that Sony is likely holding back on a lot of more popular titles so they can strategically drop them on their service over time. I don't think it's a good move, but Sony isn't likely to start putting first party titles on there day one like Microsoft and their pockets aren't nearly as deep for buying or licensing titles to put on their platform, so their only other real option to compete is to drop a title somebody really cares about every quarter or so to keep people subscribed.

The only good thing out of it is the free update for PS Classics you already bought.

The hilarious thing is how I (totally unintentionally) got the single good deal out of it. In America, if you have both PS+ and PS Now, they look at whichever has the longer subscription time and convert you to Premium with that as the end date. They disabled the ability to stack years after announcing this.

I have four more years of Plus but only 6 months of Now. But I get four years of Premium lol. And the best part is that I got Plus for $20/year online, so I basically got four years of PS Plus Premium for ~$150ish

It was also previously confirmed that anyone with a PS Now subscription would be upgraded to PS Plus Premium at no extra cost, with a 1:1 conversion ratio on any subscription time you had left.

If you stacked it, you got the best deal of all. Sony was smart and disabled stacking after they announced the merger, so you basically had to get lucky.

Edit: I get three more years, not four. But that's still a hella deal for me.

No I mean I literally only had 3 years left of PS plus anyway

This was basically a straight free upgrade for me. Because I still had 6 months of PS now left, I got 3 years of PS Plus Premium in return.

Apparently they still didn't fix the bullshit where DLC doesn't work with streamed games.
