They're bigoted as fuck towards foreigners and to be honest, there's not much to see in terms of nature and tourist attractions.

It's one of those countries that look like they have a cool culture but in reality they're kinda boring once the novelty runs out.

No, something about visiting a country where you don't know the language just seems odd to me. Like I know these countries thrive on tourism and will accommodate foreigners who don't understand the country's main language to make it an enjoyable experience but it still feels odd to me tbh

Been there already. Lived in its poorest prefecture for like 12ish years and visited the mainland a couple of times over holidays.

Nah. I'm cool. I want to visit places like the UK, or the South more. Maybe I'm feeling nostalgic, or depressed as fuck.

Wouldn't say the top but I'd like to go there someday.

Things I'd like to do specifically

See a Japanese castle/museum
Go to parks with cherry blossoms (so would go in spring time)
Eat at the XIV cafe
Visit the Subaru factory
Go hiking in the mountains/forests

I went to Kyoto Castle, which was really cool.

I also went to the history museum in Tokyo, which was fun.

...And also the Hiroshima museum. That was not fun.

What was that like?

I lived there during most of my childhood and all of my teen years so for the most part my impression of it is based on school and friends. I did explore pretty much the entire island in one summer before I left though once my friends and I turned 18 and could drive. The island probably doesn't offer much outside of snorkeling and clubbing for older people tho tbh.

I enjoyed the food and the higher population density. Loved how everything was so close together being a tiny island and all. Used to hang out and bike around this green line trail with my friends. We hung out at the karaoke places and the seawall and just loitered around really. I'm sure it'd be boring revisiting the place since most of my friends are not living there anymore.

The green line trail is like 4 hours on some cruddy bike and I don't consider myself fast lol. Its a small place and I knew many that hated the island and wanted to go back to the USA.

I lived there for 3 years, but still yes, it was awesome but expensive.

I've been there several times already, and I'd love to go again. Plus, my best friend moved there in 2019, so there's that too now...
