Not on the Wii U (when even some Wii games were made downloadable), or so far not on the Switch.

Even Microsoft and Sony have long since made their 6th Generation games downloadable on their respective online shops, but for Nintendo, it's like that entire generation is a ghost, unless they decide to port one of those games to the later console (which was only so far done with Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda Wind Waker and Zelda Twilight Princess).

Due to their larger sizes (both from a technical standpoint and from a content standpoint), I don't foresee them making a Nintendo Gamecube Online for Switch, but I doubt many could complain if those games were just released traditionally on the Switch eShop. There's an entire generation of great games--both first party and third party--that is being lost to the winds because of Nintendo's stubbornness.

i can't even imagine playing any games in the gc library besides maybe f-zero gx, but i still find it super dumb that a lot of its library can't be played on modern consoles

If you're talking about Pokemon Sword/Shield, there's a reason why that game's graphics became a laughingstock.

I want a Clover Studios collection on Steam and whatever else wants it. If DMC2 can use a collection to get re-sold, even re-sold separately on Switch, then this is not an unreasonable ask.
I may never not be bitter that Okami, the serious artsy one that I don't care about is the one that get the occasional re-release and is first in line for another chance at life while the fun ones are moving further out of reach.

It will be in the $500 a year Switch online update.

But on the plus side think of those resale values.

Twilight Princess and Fire Emblem both went for a bit when I last checked.

I personally wasnt fond of the GC games but I feel for those who want them as Dreamcast ports/reboots and SA3 are my kryptonite

Yep. I could understand them not putting them on the Wii due to the laughably-small storage space that the Wii had (where even Wii Shop Channel had to be 40MB or less to be accepted), and the fact that the Wii for most of its life could still play GCN games with no problems.

But starting with Wii U? There's no excuse there.

pretty much none of these besides warioware are games i'd play on gamecube because they are either games i don't care about (prime, kaitos), games i don't care for (twin snakes, sunshine, wind waker) or games i find obsoleted by superior ports or sequels (melee, double dash, resident evil games)

i want to play a modern pso remaster that fixes a lot of the dumb shit in the original (poor balance, dumb enemy ai, section ids, questionable damage formulas) while adding more areas, options, and weapons. portable 2 infinity was good but suffered from being on psp, and pso2 just kinda sucked and i want the old aesthetic back

i was never really a fan of the gamecube but a lot of people are and it's easy money to appeal to those people

i think the game is neat but it feels so undercooked. basically anything that's not city trial isn't worth playing, but city trial has a lot of issues on its own, namely the lack of variety within the city and the fact that a lot of the stadium events suck since basically only single lap and maybe destruction derby are any good

the game has a lot of good ideas and i hope a sequel heavily expands on its ideas

i dunno about obsolete but i can't imagine playing double dash when i can basically play any mario kart after it and get a better experience

two players in one kart is kind of neat but i think the course selection is kinda crappy outside of rainbow road, daisy cruiser, peach beach, and sherbet land. i would play it if it were on nso because why not but it's not something i'll go out of my way to play when my friends already have 8 and 200cc is too much fun

weirdly it's one of the games where even a straight port would be perfect. you could literally play on one sideways joycon since all you need is the control stick and A to play.

I can't tell whats dumber. Not putting GCN games up on Wii U/Switch, or them not putting DS games on the 3DS eShop, but instead putting them on Wii U. Imagine just being able to download HeartGold/SoulSilver/B2/W2 etc instead of paying 100+ for a loose copy. And then they wonder why people pirate...

Yeah, and same with GBA games not being on the 3DS except for the Ambassador titles.

Okay, so DS and GBA games would need to be put in a special mode on the 3DS to be played. ...So? They'd still work perfectly fine, more-or-less. Definitely another very questionable decision from Nintendo.

Mario Sunshine runs 100% emulated in Mario 3D All Stars so it's not like they can't do it they just aren't doing it.

Yes. Dolphin has been excellent for years. There's also the GC Loader ODE for those who prefer using original hardware. No need to pay hundreds for used games on eBay.
