Don't you see the difference between a phone that you can call or text with vs a phone your can browse internet/apps/watch videos on in addition to talking and text?
All I know is after a few minutes of searching I can find plenty of experts attributing the rise in pedestrian fatalities to a multitude of factors; primarily driving while intoxicated, pedestrians being struck at night, and a rise in suv ownership. I haven't seen anything suggesting smartphones and people streaming shows except for in this topic and that one Twitter post that doesn't even do a good job of suggesting a correlation anyways.

So I'm gonna take all the people suggesting smartphones as a cause with a HUGE grain of salt lol.

And what Antifar said as well. This is a US problem but phones are world wide. Smarten up, CE. The graph isn't that hard to read. It pretty much suggests smartphones have aren't the culprit but you wanna go ahead and be luddites anyways lol. Like guys, you'd literally SEE people streaming in their cars if it was actually happening in large quantities like how you can literally SEE people blowing smoke out of their cars or SEE the large number of trucks and suvs on the road. But you don't.
