Long story short: On May 19, 2007, I was nineteen years old and goofing off at a local park for a friend's high school graduation party. I was climbing trees like a dumb teenager, and ended up slipping about 15 feet up. Landed sort of ass-first, and all that compression focused on my L3 vertebra and gave me what's called a "burst fracture." Basically L3 got crushed like a soda can and exploded in different directions. Took a couple of surgeries to repair (they fused all five lumbar vertebrae together) and about a year of recovery before I could run and jump comfortably again, but here I am. Here's an x-ray pic, to boot. Keep in mind that the broken vertebra is supposed to be the same size as the others, to give an idea of how bad it broke: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/0/0/0/AAfIrhAADPw4.jpg ... Ryven posted... Do you wake up with pain or deal with it through the day? No. I am extremely fortunate in that regard. I am a fairly regular gym-goer in good shape. In fact, I probably push myself a little too hard at the gym, though when it comes to my back I try to "baby" it, in a sense. Still, once in a while I do things I shouldn't do and it might bother me for a few days but then it goes away. But no, on the daily, my back does not bother me. ... Copied to Clipboard!
