Is cloud saving supported in Retroarch?

On my Android devices, I use DriveSync for them.

On my Raspberry Pi devices, Rclone does this quite well.

All of my saves go to Google Drive so I can pick up on whatever system I'm using without needing to do any file transfers.

Also, is there a Network Sharing File Manager?

Something where you can access videos and files from your home computer?

Cheers.

I haven't used Retroarch long enough to know if it supports cloud saving, but it absolutely works nonetheless.

But here's the absolute key to everything:

https://www.emudeck.com/

It will literally do everything for you - install all the emulators, create box art for all your games, set all the emulators to map Steam Deck controls correctly, organize your games correctly, etc. It even allows you to make each individual ROM its own launch icon on the Steam OS so it looks like you're launching it like any other game. It's amazingly polished. Although I recommend going into the GameCube EMU's settings and turning off "forced widescreen"

As for cloud file saving, I'm sure there's something on Linux that you can use. I just haven't seen any reason to do it since I have a 1 TB SSD in my Deck.

Honestly, my recommendation is just buy a big-ass SD card (1 TB cards are like $120ish) and don't even bother with Cloud-based stuff. Especially since this is a handheld.

It's incredible. So much more polished and complete than it has any right to be.

RetroArch is a lot more easy to use now than it was when I tried it years ago (testing out new goodies on a brand new smartphone I got )

anyway, yes, cloud saving is supported if you get the version from the Steam store

Yeah but you really should get it from EmuDeck because it preconfigures literally everything specifically for the Deck. Every emulator, every setting, etc. It's straight up "launch the installer" and then you have every emulator ready to go on Steam OS itself all in one GUI. It's basically RetroArch but preconfigured.

I'm not sure anymore though. They've already hinted at the Steam Deck 2.

Do it. No ragerts. It's amazing. Hell, anyone ordering the first Deck won't get it until next year as it is. This is your only chance for probably years.

I think you're missing the point on retro cloud saving.

Say you're playing something on the TV with whatever console system you might have.

Head off to work, and you can resume where you left off on the Steam Deck without the need of transferring any save files from that console to your Deck's memory.

This is so all gaming systems you have share the same exact save file folder.

Hope that makes some sense.
