Party's currently at Level 8, and I just got the second map in his Palace. It's 4/21, and I'm wondering if I should try to blitz the rest of the way through, or at least get to the last Safe Room before the boss fight and then start fresh from there.

Levels won't matter too much, decent Personas on Joker make the biggest difference.

That said, the game isn't clear on this but you won't just fight the boss once you make it to the treasure, you gotta leave the calling card which causes you to exit the palace. You then fight the boss on the next day.

So yeah feel free to get to the end, maybe do some grinding if you want.

11-12 is good. At 11 Morgana learns Media which will help you out in the fight a lot.

Also yeah, decent Personas on Joker will help a lot, but your level is kind of a factor in that

cant remember the exact level but i'd recomend getting mona levelled up until he learns media which is the first AOE heal he gets. it's easily achievable in the first palace. i think around that level either ryuji or ann gets a good single target attack which makes the boss easier as well

as mentioned earlier, you can't blitz the boss. you get to the end of the palace, and then leave and send a calling card. on your next visit in, you rush the boss

Always get to the point where you can leave a calling card on day one, or the first possible day the game allows you full exploration of a palace. This is the tried and true proven method for being able to max out the most stats and confidant relationships while making sure to get the palaces done before deadline.

Trust me, go all the way to the boss, leave calling card, beat him next day.

this is definitely the best way, but its quite difficult if you're new to the game/series and don't know the ins and outs. its fine to leave the palace a few times if you're struggling

Though if TC is playing Royal, the three "hidden" items that restore the party SP makes it basically a cakewalk. Not to mention the ammo restore at the end of fights so you basically have infinite ammo.

I see. Alright, I'll see if I can get to the point where I can leave a calling card and then go from there.

And oh yeah, Morgana with Media is going to be a godsend. Gotta have that as well.

Right. I was kind of struggling to get new Personas at the start, since you only get a chance to do so at a Hold-up; I'd much prefer just starting a negotiation with them outright like in the other SMT games. But I have managed to get some Persona along the way after I got more skills to play with.

Nah, this is OG Persona 5 on PS3.

I wish I could have gotten Royal, but I don't have a PS4 or a PS5, and I felt that I put this game off long enough when I could have just gotten it years ago (my idea was that I'd hold off playing it until I got a PS4, but that never happened).

Then you will have a tough time keeping sp up until you raise the death confidant enough to buy the sp restoring accessories to one shot the palaces. Though that was a huge part of the fun. I remember having to be very stealthy and run away from most of the fights in Kamoshida's palace cause I just didnt have enough sp and ammo. That archangel fight was a huge pain with low sp.

The first boss is rather easy compared to the rest of the dungeon. He is essentially a tutorial boss and if you played any RPGs before you probably won't have a problem.
