I chose vagabond my last playthrough. Upgraded my vigor mostly and put some points in strength and endurance every couple of levels. Idr what else i did besides upgrading my weapons with the stone thingies

You can't even attack the black smith in this one.

Avoid fighting that guy thats on the horse. And youll know when you see him.

Meanwhile in Demons Souls if you sneeze while speaking to any NPC and hit them once on accident there is no way to make them not hostile.

And a post Lord Vessel mediocre stretch.

Beginning now

Wondering what the story and atmosphere will be like, and how the game will handle the open world element. There's a ton of different open world styles out there, so I wonder how this will kinda fit in with other big games, and if it will be as blatantly impressive as Bloodborne for example, or as personally enjoyable as Sekiro was for me. Also curious to see Elden Ring's takes on recurring FromSoftware staples like the Moonlight Sword or the blacksmith like we already talked about. George RR Martin was involved. So that's interesting.

Will there be a ton of Dark Souls 3 in this game?

Did they make a blatant reference to Eternal Ring early on?

What's the philosophical subtext? Etc

Named my character Bruce Wayne . Got killed by giant bats. Very nice! We're off to a good start.

Loving this so far. What a gorgeous starting area.

I get the sense that this is a direct continuation of Ashes of Ariandel and the Ringed City.

The stealth mechanics feel great. Wow. Thank God too. Haha. Sekiro has amazing gameplay.

So, like, are the bosses huge? I'm trying to get a handle on what they're going for here.

Ran around the map for awhile, got all the way to Castle Morne on foot before I think falling off a cliff somewhere else on the map and respawning back closer to Stormveil. The horse is cool. I like the platforming. This is very much like Breath of the Wild meets Shadow of the Colossus with like an Elder Scrolls thing going on with the map and compass. First thing I got to do with the horse is kill another horseback warrior who just so happened to be nearby. I saw the jellyfish. Where's Norman Reedus? David Cage? Anyone? Lol

The wildlife in this game is great. I do like the translucent trees. Gathering materials quickly on horseback seems to be the notion, and I'm enjoying it so far. I've probably only spent like 10 minutes with the horse tho so I'm really not sure what all it can do in terms of jumping.

I like that it was decided to stick that X/Y symbol on the Fringefolk building where they cut you loose.

Pretty much this is what I want Dragon's Dogma to be, and it's also honestly what Dark Souls has been going for since the start with letting the player explore a whole competent world with every nook and cranny of the scenery being something you can walk to seamlessly without loading screens or linearity. Similar to Elder Scrolls, but with less filler tbh. TES is like 3/4ths filler. Curious to see if anyone considers this Miyazaki's answer to The Witcher.

It really is a fantastic game. Sure there are some flaws but I'm willing to overlook them for how awesome my journey was.

General tip: vigor is a very strong level up stat

A good tip that works through basically the whole game is to go for map fragments (if the map is red there's like a weird tower thing travel to there to unlock the map) and then look for little red holes in the map. Those are mines and are generally have the lower level stuff in that area and provide you with weapon upgrades.

Fuck those Stormbirds

Parts of this game look straight out of a dream. They absolutely nailed it. The old ruins sticking out of the ground, castle gates embedded in dark cliffs on the beach with the sunlight and the flowers and big robust trees obscuring more beautiful vistas. It's one of the most gorgeous open world environments I've been in.

Purchase the lantern whenever you come across it. I forget which vendor has it but its early game.

I'm actually having a lot of fun approaching this game from the perspective of Blasphemous. Instead of torturing myself, I'm seeking to become a Lord, allegedly, but everyone around me is kinda still torturing themselves. God is still a giant tree person.

You gotta wonder...

Could my tarnished become a giant tree too?
