I like to parry and I realized that grounded footstool is way easier to get out of parry so it's something I'll probably go for a lot against badly spaced aerials.

Whats your strategy for footstool out of shield? Ive been trying to practice it recently (footstool firebird is a free 40%) but I cannot get it consistently. Do you just mash jump as fast as you can? Does the first jump have to be a short hop?

I have my ZR button set to jump so I've been using the two button short hop macro as I believe the first jump does have to be a short hop. I've found doing it with one jump button to be impossible, you have to mash too many buttons too fast so oftentimes you'll full hop.

This is my strategy as well. I use the short hop macro to try and get the footstool quickly. Basically need to mash it as quick as possible.

I just mash everything.

I fucking passed! Wow that was a semester. Needed a 62% or higher on the final exam, got a 69%. I should be more available to play over the summer now.

Looks like they are doing Hazards On at the Gimvitational... I am intrigued, I think you can get a decent "hazards on" list and not lose out on any stage types:

Battlefield
Small Battlefield
Northern Cave
Hollow Bastion
Town and City
Smashville
Fountain of Dreams?
Dreamland?

Only problem is no walled stages, unless you include Yoshi's w/ Randall?

we ran a hazards on stage list for a little (it was not received well) and the stages were FD, SBF, SV, HB, T&C, NC and Yoshis. FoD has (very specific) lag problems and we didn't try Dreamland.

Is g&w a good character? I was actually asking myself this before I started using him

This might be an obvious question, but think about it. Maister is one of the best players in the world, but can you think of a another g&w player that is even remotely as successful as him? I've heard of some players doing well in locals, but not a single player has a record even remotely close to Maister's. I think g&w is good, but I don't think it's the character, I think it's Maister.

G&W is good. Not great, and not bad.

I think G&W is easily a top tier, or at worst, high tier. He has the frame data, the recovery, the combos, cheese, etc. His really only weakness is that he can have trouble killing at times and he lacks big disjoints.

I think Monte actually outplaced Maister at Pound or Mainstage, and was the first G&W to do so. With that in mind, I don't think placements really dictate how good or bad a character is. For instance Inkling basically has zero results but people still think the character is high/top tier. There's only really (at top level) 1 Cloud, 1 Fox, arguably zero Wolves or Jokers, etc.

Inkling has good results thanks to Space in Europe and the Japanese inkling players, ant mentioned one of them last time but their name escapes me. Colorondo8 does decently in the US.
