Basically, after each gym, you box your whole team and build a new team on the way to the next gym. No backtracking.

I feel like the older games, this would be a tough challenge, but Shield has the XP share, lots of pokemon on every route, and is just balls easy.

Anyway, I just did my first team reset after clearing the first gym.

Does going through the Wild Area count as backtracking since you go back to it multiple times?

I would imagine that the sheer variety of pokemon available in the Wild Area would make this more fun than pervious gens. Even more fun if you have the DLC areas.

You can't go back to the specific zones you've already been through. I'm kind of avoiding it incase I need more choices later in the game.

Sounds fun. I'd personally throw in a no TMs/TRs/move relearner rule, because they trivialize most challenges.

Yeah, this sounds like a good idea to add some more fun to the game. I love how Pokmon fans always come up with unique gimmicks to add new life to the games.
