This idiot revealed my grandma in laws condition to someone else who called and asked about her

how the fuck are these receptionists so stupid? did the doctor not tell them to take their fucking job seriously?

im so mad and heated right now. I want to sue the doctor for not training the receptionist right, I want to sue the receptionist, and I definitely want to report this hospital to Medicare

Do it. Report them and pursue financial compensation. It's literally the law and they put her at risk.

I'll give you a good one. My former doctor was leaving. Either he was fired for incompetence or just leaving in general. Anyways, someone from his office forwarded a memo to all his patients letting them know that his practice was stopping, and that a replacement doctor would be taking over in 3 weeks.

What they forgot to do though.... is hide the rest of the recipients. So the email that I got showed a list of all his current patients. I didn't go any further with it, as I've had a bad experience with judges, and tbh, its not something I wanted to get into. I obviously could have, but that's a stress I don't want to go through again.

It was a blessing in disguise. I have a blood pressure condition caused by malformed kidneys. I'm supposed to have my blood pressure checked every time I go to the doctors office. He never checked it once. He was essentially there to just sign refills for me. My new doctor checks my blood pressure, makes sure all my blood work is done properly, even caught my cancer last year early and sent me for immediate xrays/ultrasounds to make sure. I was in surgery the week after getting the tumor removed. Stage 1 thankfully, so its not horrible, but I can only imagine where I would have been with doctor asshole in charge.

cc issues like that are the most or second most common source of digital violations of HIPAA.

Whenever I see a doctor, whether its my GP, my cardiologist, or Im at the hospital for a procedure, one of the first things that happens is a nurse takes my BP. Even the dentist does it.

Because the literal training on HIPAA is an online 20-minute activity that you get a refresher on each year.
