Gonna be real with yall. Literal haters of the series who were KoTor fanboys who called FF weeb shit have tried FFXV and been moved to literal tears by the story and caring about the characters.

If you already like story games, you have no excuse. Saying "I hate JRPGs" shut up and go play it.

FFXV is actual garbage cans

I played XV at a time where my PS4 was giving me a shitload of game interrupting errors and it realy ruined the game for me.

i ended up beating it but didnt really enjoy it

Ill give it another chance someday but not any time soon

FF15 is ok but everything interesting happened offscreen or in the movie

Eh. Some of FFXV's story is good and emotional but most of the game is too mediocre for me to recommend it to any traditional, long time FF fans. Graphics(At the time) and music are the only great things about it. It's considerably flawed and barely good when it could have been great. If Square Enix treated modern main series FF games as games instead of a multimedia marketing projects to milk for money. FFXVI will likely suffer from the same issues so it's a hard pass for me until they release the final complete version of the game and when that hits bargain bin prices.

FFXV had a nice world and dungeons to explore. That's about it.

The major problem with FFXV is that the story is good in its major beats, but the presentation and development of the story is so lackluster that by the time you hit the finale, it feels like a midway point. It takes too long to get awesome, and when it does get awesome, it doesn't last long enough.

Finished the base game when it came out. Did not want to go near it again. Even more so when they came out with fragmented updates and paid dlc for the rest of the story.

I have a weird thing about rpg parties and gender
Like a compulsion where I need a certain balance or I just feel like something is off while playing

If the battle party is 3 then it needs to ne 2 guys and 1 girl

If the battle party is 4 then 2 guys/2 girls or 3 guys/1 girl

If 5 then it has to be 3 guys and 2 girls

The rare battle limit set at 6 can be either 4 guys/2 girls or 3 guys/3 girls

I'm OK with an all girl team like in final fantasy x-2 but I don't like all guy teams like ff15

That's the main reason I haven't played ff15 yet

Probably the biggest mistake with FFXV was going open world with it. They basically just dumped a ton of fetch quests in the middle of the game and said "have at it".

The linear parts of the story are when it's at it's best, only bogged down by how several key plot points happen offscreen during the open world part.

I tried the demo and couldn't get into it. The world looked cool but the combat was meh.

One of the more memorable Clueless Gamer episodes was FF 15. I don't remember Conan ever ripping a game quite that hard, and then someone told him that members of the dev team were in the waiting room listening to him; he spent the rest of the runtime apologizing to them.

FF15 has the most poorly told simple story I've ever experienced

5/10 game at best

im super forgiving of flawed games (ive played multiple IF games to completion, for example), FFXV was just boring
tried to get into it like three times and i own it on multiple platforms, bored to tears

I didn't enjoy the game play so I ended up giving up on the game. I liked the characters, but it wasn't enough to keep me going

I'll probably go back to it at some point, but the 100+GB download is stopping me from doing so anytime soon tbh. I only have a 50Mb connection

Yeah, honestly the last stretch of the game when the open world stuff narrows down and you spend some time on a train going through more direct paths is my favorite part. It had way more story-relevant events and felt a lot more focused than the entire rest of the game.

Then of course the biggest sin was the last act itself--They give every character a badass time-skip design, and they give us the world completely covered in darkness....Ignis has learned to fight blind, Noctis has come to understand and accept his role in things...and then, rather than come to terms with the new status of the world and how everything has changed, we just bee-line right for the final boss and it ends almost immediately.

Literally the only thing good about the game is Royal Editions cover.

Is that the one with the car? I couldnt make it past the gas station part.

Turn based combat feels more fluid than whatever this games combat is....

FFXV is like the prototype combat for the perfected version in ff7 remake. It felt way too floaty and random to me, I really didnt like how it felt to play and fell off it hard

One thing for me was how it seemed like leveling up did almost nothing. And how those special weapons that damage you while you use them didn't really feel any stronger or more useful than other weapons. The ones I used, I only had equipped for the passive stats.

I want to play it now that I have a new pc. It was so janky on my laptop.

When I played, the music drowned out the big speech at the end lol. Even if I cared what was happening, I wouldn't of got to know. It for sure made sure non of it stuck in my memory, since I didn't get to understand what everything was even about

It's why final fantasy 5 is one of my least played final fantasy games despite it being really good

I enjoyed the game, but they really dropped the ball with the story.

I think the ending was fantastic and has incredible emotional weight, but it just doesnt hit like it should because the plot doesn't even really get going until like 80% into the game.

And the fact that much of the character development of the party members is relegated to DLC...that is not good
