That game had a lot of potential, it does have my favorite setting in the series, and there's a shit ton of world building and lore that the majority of people playing it will never know about because it requires talking to NPC's and interacting with objects around the world. I recently replayed it and found a new appreciation for the games ability to hold itself back in that regard, most Final Fantasy games shove every aspect of its history and world down your throat until you're tired of hearing about it. As for Quistis, she graduated to SEED at 15, so had 3 years to get her act together as a potential instructor.
