80/80

This is about the slowest burn of slow burn shows but man it's worth it. All the pieces fit together to form a great final few episodes with of course an elite cliffhanger that has me wanting more.

Anyone else watch? It's about the only reason to get appleTV aside from Ted Lasso (which I haven't seen yet other than episodes 1 and 2 on a plane, no spoilers)

I loved it. Shows where they have a concept that seems weird but also seems kind of plausible are always fun to watch. Season 2 is going to be really interesting

That's where I applaud this - aside from a few questions like how do the innies even know what things like cars or babies even are, they really nailed the concept and answered a lot of the questions without too many convenient plot devices (like the "decoder" in the elevator lmfao)

Two minor complaints - the overtime policy plan needing to be a "two man job" was really a stupid thing to talk about over and over. Clearly Dillon was able to do it himself, so why spend all that time harping on it being a two person job when it had zero impact on the plot?

Other complaint is just about the use of shaky cam. The show was only using stationary cams in the hallways and the steady moving "walk-and-talk" cam that I was used to it and felt it was a great consistency. Really had the viewer feeling "stuck" down there along with all them. Except in a few episodes midway through, there are a few running scenes in those hallways, and they busted out the Cloverfield-style shaky cam. Totally threw me off. I did notice there was a different director for a few of the middle episodes, and when Milchick was running to the security room in episode 9, the camera went back to the stationary hallway cam. That last episode was also Ben Stiller directed and not the other person, so I wonder if there was, dare I say, a clash of personalities between the two directors?? All in all a minor complaint. It was just totally unnecessary and I feel shaky cam adds zero drama or effect for the viewer.

i would've been PISSED if anything i just saw was spoiled

Yeah we got the free trial of Apple TV through my PS4 and PS5, so we've got 9 months free. Binged Severance and Cosby caught up and had to wait a week in between the last few episodes. One of the best new shows in a while.

That said, For All Mankind is right up there with it.
