They are still babies. If it was puppies or kittens, you probably wouldn't feel the same way.

Yeah because they had the chance to live a full life. Chicken's happy period lasts like a couple of weeks. They go from cute babies to too fat to move from being overfed in the blink of an eye

I think everyone wants the chickens to just run around a goddamn grass field for literally 100% of their life, with eggs collected by smiling ppl.

Most chickens don't get a chance to live a full life, though. Female broilers live a literal Hell that lasts about 42 days, while the males are macerated or gassed not too long after they hatch.

To be fair, there are large numbers of cats and dogs that are unfairly euthanized each year because shelters are overpopulated and no one wants to buy or adpot them. Many millions. But chickens have it much worse. Billions of them each year. No one views them as anything other than an object that tastes good with some seasoning and breading.

It's unrealistic for sure. There's always pain or suffering involved when there's a victim.
