I don't know what you're assuming here? Considering the things I argue about on here that make me disliked are mostly in regards to vigilantism and health? My taste in video games is admittedly super dated, and I occasionally post about film? But when do I ever actually make my musical taste known on here or talk about music? I'm honestly curious what you think my taste is, or what my hot takes will be? I did this like one other time for like two pages.

I'm listening to the first song that came up on Youtube.
It's fine. I don't know enough, although apparently I should considering the accolades on this Wikipedia article. I guess I knew "Cat's in the Cradle," but I always thought it was by Jim Croce?
I'm not a big fan of those inflections a lot of '60s and '70s folk singers had in their voice when storytelling. I do think it's cool he was known for his philanthropy.
I'd still probably rather listen to Phil Ochs or something, though.

It's fine, but nothing I'd really want to go out of my way to listen to. That's curious that he was a member of Arab Strap. Funny story -- when I was 15 or 16 and big into indie shit and was a wannabe hipster, my first show was actually opened by Arab Strap; my first show as Bright Eyes for the Lifted tour.

I'm lukewarm about Nickelback. I think the whole worst music meme stuff is rubbish. Like I don't like them, but they're inoffensively bad. There's way worse stuff out there. I'd rather listen to Nickelback's entire discography over that one Lukas Graham song alone.

That's cool he was in Acid Bath, I guess. I'm not crazy into doom, sludge, or any slower metal. This solo stuff is super tedious to me. It's like what I'd think of if I heard the generic word "rock," even if it's a little more elevated and the music seems well composed and not totally corny. I could see this being played in like, an indie horror film set in the South -- and they're in like a "cool" bar.

This is so weird to me. It's like one of those bands that tries so hard to just mix up genres as much as they can in one song or album. Some parts are synthy. Some parts remind me of that bad post hardcore or metalcore stuff people called emo in the early '00s -- with the mix of really contrived, guttural screams with singing parts (except the singing parts obviously aren't whiny white males doing nasally pop punk voices). Some parts just seem like metal? It's odd. I don't like it. I wouldn't judge someone else for liking it, though. Seems very niche.

I don't like Billy Corgan's voice, but I like the music. I'm not into them or their style, but I appreciate them for what they are and respect them. If I would've been my brother's age and been a teen when they were on the radio - I probably would've been into them.

Definitely not for everyone. They started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band which is probably where a lot of the genre fluidity comes from.
