A massive improvement over X

looks great, and I can effectively treat Jacqui as She-Spawn due to the extensive customization for the costumes. lol

Also, the final boss is interesting for the first time since like Onaga. White was definitely a great direction

Go Ed Boon

Parts of this look straight out of a movie or like the fighters are actually made of clay

Seems like this one is less focused on extensive combos

I haven't really delved that deep into the combat system, but it's not throwing breaker prompts at me left and right

Last I checked, it's still uppercut spam and sweep kick spam

Its definitely a better game than X and 9 in terms of how it plays. Its not perfect but its flaws are still less annoying than 9/X.

Jacquivisually I find her adorable but unfortunately as a character shes about as interesting as a carrot. I wish they had done something a little more interesting with her.

MK11 was the first MK game I've ever regretted buying. I felt like MKX was the perfect in gameplay. I loved how fast paced it was. MK11 was too slow for me and the combos sucked.

I liked MK11 but neither X nor 11 come even close to how good 9 was. Just the perfect balance of speed and mobility in that game. A real shame they went for a bulkier style of combat for X.

X was just such a mixed bag. It has a godly roster and a lot to do.

Good pair with 11 which is arguably much more simple fundamentally in terms of combat and activities outside of customization

Hoping to see a Konquest mode next

MK11 was great, the only things about it I really dislike about it are how unlocking the customization pieces are pure RNG and every mode in the game requires an online connection. The latter especially gives the game a built-in expiration date, since it literally won't be playable at all once the servers go down.

MK11 is the weakest in the series when it comes to the gameplay. They minimize combo potentials and try to go for a grounded strike throw esque type of gameplay. It's still fun, but I hate how they really limit your options on what you can do. MKX I think has the best gameplay, but I can understand why some people might not like it, it can be very intimidating. There are plenty of times when you're just going to get beatdown hard by players who know what they're doing. Also yeah, MK9 is not balanced at all. Still, I think MK9 is amazing for what it managed to do and revitalize Mortal Kombat the story decision to make Sindel murder the majority of the MK cast was the dumbest decision ever though.

Yes and no. Directional inputs create a risk / reward system that has its own purpose. If you're trying to do a Hadoken, for example, there will be at least 3 frames where you have not yet committed to the animation but cannot block.

Yeah directional inputs creates depth, but it is possible to have depth and simple inputs like Smash. Smash has heavy emphasis on movement to create combo's and mind games, which is one of the reason it doesn't need directional inputs. DNF duels and GBvs also have the cool idea that it also has simple inputs, but if you use directional inputs for them they're better version of it. If you take something out like simple inputs, make sure to replace it with something that requires depth to be good.
