Fairly grounded combat that isn't ridiculously over the top (yet), attacks feel like they have weight and impact to them. The dodges/recoil when blocking/getting hit doesn't look cool, it looks calculated but clumsy/desperate. Magic actually looks like the powerful spectacle that it should. Playing as Barret especially, I don't know why. Cloud was alright, and Tifa can be fun. I don't need a turn by turn, but I can go to FFX if I want that. The new stuff is cool to me, the cutscenes are nice, there was some tedium but not too much. Heck even FF7R by itself is a poor game by todays standards.
