Both the Steam client and my email received notices. And yeah, I was Q2 April-June. Pre-ordered Jul 16, 2021

Update: Card was charged, and status changed to Shipping Soon.

My guess is I'll have it by Friday.

Have fun with it. Go nuts toggling different community controller configs. It's pretty fun with a Steam Controller on PCs.

I've heard that generally-speaking it punches way above its weight in performance, but I'm guessing it falls apart with CPU-limited games.

My 1 TB microSD just arrived. Not sure why so many websites recommend 160 MB/sec read cards considering the Steam Deck tops out at 100 MB/sec read for SD cards. Either way, I'm going to store games I'm not using on the SD card, then move them to the internal storage when I'm playing them.

do you have a choice of changing which model you want when you get the order link? My guess is no, and you can only order the one you reserved like a year ago?

Just got it, updating the software. Initial impressions of the hardware itself are that it feels like something Nintendo would have made, which is kind of surprising, and it somehow feels much smaller than this switch despite being much bigger, which really screws with my head

PS Vita still had one of the best hand held ergonomics for a portable gaming machine IMO.

Anyway, congrats on your Steam Deck. I daresay that pre-order wait time was worse than the 30 series gpu's.

Played about an hour of Elden Ring on it. Performance obviously isn't 60fps but locking it to 30 feels acceptable. Looks nice, though. The control layout takes some getting used to.

Count me as a fan as well then.

One more to our little group of Vita fans.

IMO, if the Vita was a Clam-Shell style Portable Hand held like the 3DS, it could've done SO much more with it's tiny foot print.

The Vita's overall shape was fine, but the screen could've been moved to a better position.

I don't really understand why Sony was so hell-bent on abandoning it so quickly. Especially after the PSP sold so well.

As for Steam Deck, my dream of Half-Life 2 on a handheld is finally realized.

Upper Management are a bunch of morons, if it wasn't a runaway success, they just give up.
They weren't willing to grind it out / slug it out with 3DS and put in the work to beat Nintendo.

Sony abandoned the Vita because they were near bankruptcy and they had to ensure the PS4 launch was successful and all the money went into that once they saw that the Vita didn't start off great. The PS4 launch was successful and it saved the company.
