Do we truly have the legal right to own a gun if cops can execute us for having a gun (or in some cases just suspected of having a gun)

I'm talking about cases where rhe gun owner (or unarmed person) is not a threat. They shoot you just cause you own a gun.

In this country, with the appropriate background checks? Yes.

If a cop tries to kill you and manage to win, you get arrested for defending yourself

Thia is why I don't understand cop supporters. Being a supporter of the police is like being the victim in an abusive relationship

It's interesting. The second amendment states that people shall have the right to keep and bear arms, but no where does it state that they have the right to fire said arms.

Why do you think I don't carry? Your chances of getting killed by a cop would go through the roof.

Not necessarily. The not getting shot might be predicated on being in the well regulated military that the amendment brings up.

The 2nd amendment doesn't really mean much. In theory, we have a constitutional right to bear arms, but there are plenty of states that make laws that ignore it.

Yet when they shoot you its they feared for their lives we wont try them it hold them accountable. If I did that its be felony after felony and Id be in jail for life. There is no way theyd give me the benefit of the doubt if self defense against a cop. And on the slimmest of chances they did, his entire precinct would out a target on my back.

yes the 2nd amendment is real. the occasional cop being a thug doesnt stop that. iv personally been in two situations where i had to talk to cops while i was armed and they knew i was armed and yet i wasnt shot at. one even opened up a 2-3minute conversation of what i was carrying (at the time it was a dan wesson eco).

and yes the cops in general get WAY too much leeway in the bad shit they might do. this needs to be addressed. cops should get HARSHER punishments than normal citizens do when they fuck up.
