Somewhat unrelated, but I'm really glad to have a pair of heeled boots I can enjoy wearing, x.x . I struggled immensely with even just putting my last pair on, but these are super easy to put on because I can unzip them, unlike the others. I ended up giving the last pair to my mom.

Thats wonderful to hear! They look adorable as well! Zipper closures on footwear are a huge lifesaver imo. Im so happy you found some footwear you enjoy, would you say that you feel happier and more confident in them?

Lifted shoes are so much fun, most of my chunky shoes are platforms cuz Im self conscious that I might be too heavy for something like stiletto heels, but maybe someday Ill feel braver!

One thing I wish someone had told me, is when you change the angle of your foot, that is going to have an impact on everything in line all the way up to your hip. You will probably experience a bit of discomfort during extended wear on boots like this, because even at rest your muscles will be in a position theyre not used to, dont get discouraged by this! Just be sure to take lots of breaks and listen to your body, ok?

One thing I do when I need to practice balance in a new pair of platforms, is just stand while I play video games or watch a video or something, feels silly but I really believe it helps lol.

Those look a little too shiny.

The slightness scuff or bump will be seen a mile away.

I use to buy the dress shoe types and they'd be worthless after about three months no matter the cost.

Use to get the black wax hot and drip it into the scratches and dings.

There are obviously women out there taller than 5'9 (my height), but the average woman is shorter than my height anyway, so adding a little extra to me with heels makes me wonder.

Yeah, these boots hurt! I was expecting that when I bought them, and they're totally worth it, but still! If I rest my foot too much on the front of my feet (the area being a bit behind my toes), that part can hurt a lot, but if I rest too much on my heel, that hurts too. I'll definitely need to bring another pair of shoes for extended outings, but if i'm not doing a lot of walking, they're great.

Also, yeah, we do, :) . We love a lot of the same things we see when we go shopping, and sometimes we even buy one each of the same thing if we like it enough. She wears some of my own shoes sometimes, too.

Isnt it tragic how we can so easily become insecure about the things that make us unique? Lately Ive been trying to work on reminding myself that when Im feeling self conscious and feel that everybody is looking at me and thinking Im weird, that thats really just a thought Im having and not really a reflection of how others actually feel. Putting that into practice for me sometimes involves finding a physical space where I feel comfortable saying it out loud.

You know, shoes like that are designed to make women feel tall and powerful, and they kinda set your legs into a position where youre flexed up and looking graceful, which is certainly going to be awkward if youre not used to it. I think that people who were bullied and abused in the past are so afraid of standing out because that attention might attract more people who want to hurt us, and thats definitely true and something to give thought to, but the good people will also have a harder time finding us if we stay afraid and keep hiding ourselves. You dont always have to be strong, but youll get better at it the more you try.

Im gonna wear my thigh high platforms when I go out this weekend! Ill post a picture of them here.

You did make me think about the relationships a lot of trans women have with the process of learning how to be a woman, and it makes me so happy to read about your relationship to your mother and that thats a really strong positive influence for you. I think it was probably difficult for her too, but it sounds like shes been a really brave person for you as well.

Aside from shopping, what are some other ways she spends time with you that make you feel that womanly bond?

Realistically speaking, I should never feel insecure about it people perceive me correctly because i've never had any trouble at all in terms of "passing", >.< . I've been on hormones for 8.5 years and have been presenting as myself for almost 8 years, and i've never once been gendered incorrectly, and i've even had guys hit on me... but like you said, being bullied and abused by others in the past just makes me very self-conscious about what other people might be thinking about me if I stand out too much. Part of me worries that things like that could happen again...

At the end of the day, though, I still try to wear what I want to wear, like the heels I have in the picture. Even if they do add an element of insecurity in the form of what I mentioned, I still enjoy them a lot and it can't keep me from wearing them when I feel like it. I love how they look, and I like having them on me.

I didn't really feel like I could count on her to be supportive before I came out (also around 8.5 years ago) because she never spoke out against my father's hatred for LGBTQ people, but she's been nothing less than 100% supportive of me ever since then. She started working with me almost immediately to get me on hormones and has helped with everything else along the way... Getting a new wardrobe, getting started with makeup, even getting my legal info changed, etc.. My sister has never been much of a girly girl at all (she never wears makeup, doesn't care about clothes/even wears a lot of men's clothing, doesn't like shopping, etc.), and so I guess i've give my mom a way to bond with me that she never could with my sister. We cook and bake together (which my sister also has no interest in), watch a lot of shows and movies together, play games together, and other stuff besides the shopping, and she's claimed multiple times to consider me her "best friend", >.<

Also, nice boots! I approve, lol. I'd take a pair, but i'd want to see what it looked like in other colors, too.
