Normally I try to make work friends
But I'm strongly considering just finding a high paying job and keeping things purely professional and not speaking to work people outside of work.

Does anyone just treat a job like 'I'm paid to be there and not socialise' and if so, what is your job?

I'm a teacher, so it ranges from being content with doing a worthy job for society and having existential crises regarding what I'm actually able to do.

Nah I love it. I make differences in people lives and sometimes save them, see crazy shit that the dregs of society do, and get good pay >_> Plus all my coworkers are pretty good

Not good

I often feel I could be doing something more involved. My work usually involves simple repetitive tasks.

I work from home now for a Nashville record label doing advertising and graphic work. Social interaction with coworkers is little to none.

It's okay most days. Most of my coworkers are nice and have an interest in doing a good job. We'll hang out now and then, but none of us are super close or anything. It's more like we're just lazy at friendship.

Trash. But i work only 2 days a week now so it makes it more bearable. All my cool coworkers left to travel nurse and i stayed because me and the wife just had a baby.
She works her 8 to 5 while i watch son and then i work Friday and Saturday nights.

I switch to part time which gets no insurance or PTO, but now i make like 8$ more an hour with less money coming out of paycheck. So my paycheck is only 100$ less take home even though i work only 4 shifts a pay period compared to 6.

I like most days. I work at an animal shelter/rehabilitation clinic. I get to work with animals from raccoons, opossums, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, deer, birds.. basically any wildlife that shows up.

The people are great, the culture is good, the workload is fair / balanced. I don't like office work in general, but best office job I've had by miles.

I love my job but I'm bored as shit teleworking. My coworkers and boss were really cool because it's a bunch of nerds passionate about robotics and natural language processing who love collaborating, and I got to travel a lot. Hard to beat getting reimbursed on top of getting paid every year to take a 2 week trip out to LA and visit the beach daily after work, and that isn't even conference travel both stateside and international. I would've been long fired from any other job from all of the slacking off I've done these past two years while stuck at home so that tells you how low stress it is.

Once everything gets back to normal, I'll probably telework 2 days out of the week for the best of both worlds

I like it. I enjoy everyone that I work with and the work isn't bad. Shit changes in the last minute, but they are flexible in return.

I pay almost $20 round trip to get to work, which sucks. It's mostly the toll that's annoying. If I could change anything, it would be to work one day a week from home. Just so I drive less and catch up on writing protocols and reading.

I don't like it but I don't hate it. I've never really had a dream job. When I think about what I would like to do, nothing ever comes to mind. So I just do whatever I find that I don't hate.

I'm a school psychologist and I love my job. I do have some issues with it (I hate writing reports, the Karens can be very tiresome, and my school has a very conservative culture), but I enjoy most of what I do, and I feel very satisfied by the work I'm doing.

In terms of work relationships, it's kind of mixed. I get along great with everyone on a surface level, but I've only gone beyond the surface with a select handful of trusted colleagues because I'm afraid of making enemies at work or getting fired or something. I imagine if it became public knowledge that I'm a liberal or an atheist, there would be some sort of backlash at work.
