IRS? Sure we need you to send all your personal info to this third party websight to verify everything to get you an account. Nothing shady about that it all. Do it anyways, get signed in to IRS account, only to find zero balance. Ok well HR Block told me I owe something but I don't remember exactly what it was. Call them, get the number owed. Well, there's no balance to pay, but hey I figure I'll make a payment anyways. Well, there was an error with your payment!!!! Could it be because there's no balance? Who knows, there's no error message! Bank account typo? Zero balance? Random one-off technical error? Who knows, fuck you! We'll send you and email confirmation anyways saying your payment is pending despite the error message and no money being taken from your account just to add to the confusion.

Oh, wait! There is no create an account option! Because fuck you! Alright, well at least there's a "make a payment button" there, glad I got both state and federal amounts from HR block because there's no way to see what it actually is! Anyways go ahead and run through all this information, give me your credit card number and SSN in plain text, totally cool! Welp your payment went through this time to the state but I sure don't want to tell you if it was successfully applied to you, PatrickMahomes! Here's your confirmation number, now fuck off.

This is nuts. I understand getting a refund and the whole gOvErNmEnT tHaNkS yOu FoR yOuR iNtErEsT fReE lOaN schtick. But my fucking god, I would much rather get a few fewer dollars per paycheck and get a surprise payday in April vs. getting a few more dollars per paycheck and getting two surprise invoices in April that are both equally painful to pay and if you don't brute force your way through it then enjoy penalties, interest, and audits.

i was a lil behind - appointments were scarce at hr block literally a month ago but they have an option where you can drop your shit off and come back. so i dropped it all off like a month ago and they took about two weeks, which was expected. then it was filed and accepted around that timeframe and they told me what i owe, yet there is still nothing on the irs websight showing a balance smfh

I am happy that I am only getting around a $100 this time. It means I am withdrawing the right amount every paycheck

Tell them you cannot afford to pay. They will work with you. Whatever you do, dont bury your head in the sand. Remember, the IRS doesnt have the resources to go after the big guys, so they go hard on the little guy when he owes a few bucks.
