What a fucking game. As I said in my previous topic, lol @ myself for assuming this was going to be a light-hearted game from the starting chapters. A lot of scenes and character stories tugged on the heart. I played on Normal, took the Hyzante route at the start, and went with Frederica's path at the end. The ending was quite sad. Overall, Normal was a really fair difficulty, I praise the development team for making a surprisingly well balanced game. My most used units Erador, Ezana, and Hughette. I have a lot of sRPG experience so I didn't lose any of the fights but I got worried a few times. The last fight was a battle of attrition that took long but wasn't too tough in itself, the hardest fight that I did was the ship harbor fight against Thalas and Erika, I almost lost that one. Overall, amazing game. I highly recommend the game to anyone looking for a classic sRPG experience. --- Remembering the EPICNESS one GameFAQs post at a time. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Agreed, absolutely amazing game. I enjoyed the scales mechanic far more than I thought I would. The demo did a poor job of showing just how impactful those choices were going to get. I also went with Frederica's ending. Was a bit disappointed in how that one ended, but I guess that should be expected when there's a different, "golden" ending. I put my 2nd playthrough on hold, while I play some other new releases, but looking forward to returning to the game and seeing how the golden ending plays out. --- PSN - NoxObscuras Z490 | i9-10900K | EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra | 32GB DDR4 3600 | 4TB SSD ... [LFAQs-redacted-quote] It's the first three chapters of the game, which are incredibly wordy and time consuming in their setup, which is unlike the vast, vast majority of the rest of the game. I don't dislike it, but as first impressions go, I wouldn't recommend it except with that understanding. --- "That thick shaft that causes women to shudder!" ... Copied to Clipboard!

[LFAQs-redacted-quote] Lmao, considering my common strategy for killing tanky bosses was the tried-and-true method of "surrounding 4 units around the boss so they can't escape" that was ever so prominent in FFT and TO:LUCT, I would welcome a sequel with that name. --- Remembering the EPICNESS one GameFAQs post at a time. ... It's my favorite game of the year so far. Better than those AAA juggernauts we got in the past quarter. I played on Normal until I reached about halfway, then switched to easy because it got too hard for me. I'm not good at SRPGs, but I'm a veteran of JRPG games. I took Benedict path first, then Frederica before I went with Golden route. I like Benedict path better than Frederica's, but Golden was the best of all. Usually when the win condition is "kill that one asshole" the most effective strategy is to bum rush him and trap him but that isn't going to work on Golden route. There's no shame in lowering the difficulty if you're not familiar with sRPGs, I actually told my GF at various points "Damn, this is probably brutal for new players". I have not tried other paths yet, i'm going to mess around with FFXIV for a bit since 6.1 came out but then i'm going to go back to TS, start a hard mode file, and go with either Roland or Benedict's path. I was originally planning to start a golden route path until someone experienced told me not to do that since i'll need all the characters for the ending, so i'm glad I was informed of that beforehand! --- Remembering the EPICNESS one GameFAQs post at a time. ... The-19th-Sparta posted... Okay, that makes sense. If you know the answer to this question, what is the most amount of units you can possibly obtain in a fresh run? By fresh run I assume you mean NG+. If you start over, you don't get to keep any units you unlocked. There's 4+2 mutually exclusive units In the beginning you get Corentin or Rudolph depending on if you visit Hyzante or Aesfrost so just do the opposite of your previous playthrough. Then later the following options will unlock different units:
You unlock the 30th character immediately after you begin the Golden route path so you should have 29 going into it. All other characters are unlocked by convictions and you can do it at any point Before chapter 17 on any game just needs a lot of grinding. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://i.imgur.com/dQgC4kv.jpg ... I actually do mean starting over with a fresh NG on hard mode, that was my intention for my next playthrough. Thank you for the very detailed answer though, so I would have 25-ish units by the end of a fresh run if done right? There's no reason for this as NG+ levels carry over so Chapter 1 NG+ enemies have the same levels as chapter 20 normal enemies and the game is overall much harder.. You'll have 26 units if you recruit everyone possible on a fresh game for golden route. I highly recommend visiting Hyzante for Corentin at the beginning. You're going to have to do a LOT of conviction grinding. You will likely spend something like 50+ hours just grinding convictions and that's assuming you can keep perfect track of what your conviction values are at any given time. Good luck. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://i.imgur.com/dQgC4kv.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

If you play NG+ for the Golden route, you should get more characters in, and it should be enough. I cheesed my way in the Golden route chapter fights on very easy mode since most characters were under level, and it was challenging enough to be fun. I switched back to easy once you get your starting party back for the final battles, but I should have gone on normal at that point. --- "Judge of a man by his questions rather than by his answers."
