Most of the bullying was for the usual petty reasons that people bully others. You were more likely to get called a loser, or made fun of for the way you looked then getting called a racial slur. Everyone was cool with everyone. One was a white dude who got laid out for calling a black dude the hard R N-word. Another was a black chick for talking down to another black chick for being a "race traitor" because she was dating a white dude. One really bad one that lead to a student being stabbed (can't remember if he lived or not) this white dude was jumped by a couple other students just because his dad was a racist p.o.s. even though this guy was friendly towards everyone regardless of race. --- Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series! <cite>ProboBum posted [p:964130724] in What were ... coolboy11 04/08/22 4:54:52 PM #62:	went to a high school in a Conservative Deep South Exurban community in the late aughts/early 2010's. school was about 70% White, 25% Black, with the remainder being a mix of Hispanic kids, and some Asian kids (mainly South Asian) our school was mainly middle class but takes in much of the rural/small cities in the county so it had a much larger working class subsection of students/non white population than the other high school in the county the 08 election was a big flashpoint, several race related fights, many White students expressing their disdain for the thought of a Black liberal president being Black folks in the South many finding out there apparently a ton of non black folk would vote for a Black Liberal president, fun times our nickname was literally based off the CSA from the Civil War era (school founded in 1956) which was a sore spot for many black folks in the community (even had Dixie as the fight song) few of my teachers were black though we did have one black administrator and a few coaches (of course) a lot of my non black classmates/teachers while polite to me came from environments where casual anti blackness was rampant so they were sadly prone to repeating much of the same as "well that's just the way it is" (should be the Southern mantra lol) I didn't have the self esteem to challenge back to this more often sad to admit friend groups were largely segregated and dating was largely the same --- "A superhero in the flesh, even at my worst I'm the best"-Big KRIT <cite>coolboy11 posted [p:964130775] in What were ... We all got along well and there were very few instances of racism in school. There were kids who were closet racists, but put on a friendly front in school. I only knew about them because other white students who knew better called them out on it. The only time I ever experienced racism at school was during away basketball games. Kids from opposing schools in rez border towns were nasty. Their refs were even worse. I would say 85-90% of my high school was white and the rest would be Hispanic and/or Middle Eastern from the surrounding neighborhoods. GameGodOfAll 04/10/22 2:24:02 AM #85:	Boston Public. I was usually like 1 of 3 or 4 white kids in a class. School was about 45% black 45% hispanic 6% white 4% other. Never had a problem. 4 years and very little racism. The black students did tend to hang out with the other black students and vice versa with Spanish, but never really any race based animosity of note. This was mid 00s. Also surprisingly chill on homophobia given the year. Least from an outsider's perspective. For the most part social groups did tend to segregate themselves, but thats generally just whats gonna happen naturally. There were definitely generally white and black neighborhoods in the town I grew up in so people were going to hang out with the people they live around. We literally made the local news my junior year of school because we actually had some "race war" stuff going on. A white kid fought a black kid which made a bunch of smaller fights break out amongst them as well. And then all of the racists declared they would wear white shirts to school for the next couple days while the black kids wore black shirts. Only a couple of racial incidents I remember: one black kid was calling Indian kids Osama and his mom (who worked at the school) corrected him, which the Indian kids had a good laugh at.
