Not fair having to pick between Triangle Strategy and Strangers of Paradise. Theyre the only 2 games in the poll I've played so far.

Kirby's better, not that Kirby and ER are strictly comparable. And some of those Treasure Road target times are harder than anything I've done in ER.

A game you can beat in a couple of days at best that has the depth of a gameboy game and at most will make you say "oh thats neat" is better then the grandest of adventures that will be remembered for all of time as one of the most epic events in gaming history?

The only other noticeably good game on there is pokemon.

We all know Jack Chaos will dominate at The Game Awards this year! Elden Ring will get BTFO!

A game that sets out to be a fun, pure gameplay experience with no filler and succeeds perfectly is a better game than another open world that sets out to be "the grandest of adventures" but is merely "good" and manages to be frequently boring, yes.

What filler? Elden ring is praised so highly because it doesnt have the bloat and filler thats usual for the genre

First off, I didn't say ER has filler, I said Kirby doesn't.

Second, are you high? Seriously, how fucking high are you? ER is praised for its beautiful world, its engaging combat, its challenge, and its deeper mechanics. It is not praised for having "no filler." Open worlds by design are loaded with filler. ER having less than the typical open world (debatable) doesn't mean it has none. ER specifically features, off the top of my head:

Frequent massive areas that take substantial time to traverse with little more than nice views and trash mobs
Stone farming if you want to meaningfully upgrade more than two or three armaments throughout the game
Difficulty spike bosses that require either practicing dodge-roll timing for their specific attacks or rune farming to outlevel them (both of which take time, i.e. filler)
Literally dozens of samey caves, catacombs, and mines, 75% of which reuse bosses and 95% of which reward you with nothing useful for your build

Regardless, the point is that Kirby sets out to be a fun experience of pure gameplay and succeeds 100%. ER sets out to be, as you put it, "the grandest of adventures" and succeeds like 70 or 75%.

Elden Ring is the best on the list, but the past month or so has been great with that, Triangle Strategy, Stranger of Paradise (which easily bests Elden Ring in combat), and Kirby.

This is the first Kirby game I've played since literally OG Dream Land on GB (and I'm pretty sure I never even finished that one). I was planning to pass on Forgotten Land but the husband wanted to try out the demo and we both got hooked. I never really gave the series a second thought but this game's fun as fuck.

I'm glad Draven won instead of the two same characters, Link or Cloud. Draven at least has personality unlike the other 2 typical blond hair blue eyes protagonist.

I agree but to be fair Cloud actually does have a pretty unique and wild character arc in FF7. He's just stereotyped as boring and stoic and edgy because that's how he is in Kingdom Hearts and even kind of in Advent Children. Link shouldn't ever win any character polls though, if the character poll is actually about the character and not just "vote for your favorite game series this character represents".

tbh Kirby's always been to sweet and weightless for me, but the new one grabbed me for some reason. It just feels good to play.
