Not all the spinoff ones with characters like Batwoman, Alfred, Gordon, etc. I mean one with Bruce Wayne as the lead being Batman fighting his biggest villians. He can be younger, either way is fine. We know they can do him in TV animation very well (BTAS) but for live action they seem to have no interest in trying it out. ... Copied to Clipboard!

DC is finally easing up a bit, but for decades they were super protective of Batman-related properties. To the point where even minor Batman characters were barred from showing up in other DC projects. DC was both concerned that overuse would devalue the brand and that multiple Batman projects would confuse the viewer. --- *Gheb is my other account* ... Copied to Clipboard!

My guess is that there doesnt appear to be a market for campy Batman anymore and the cost to do a live action Batman was prohibitive to make it look good. Knowing how much streaming platforms are now willing to spend on shows, the latter might be a thing of the past, though. --- Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less. ... This is why everything Batman except the Bat himself and Terry McGinnis was suddenly phased out of the Justice League cartoon. Same with Aquaman, as they were planning an Aquaman series at the time which ended up not happening (he still shows up in the opening of JLU even though he disappeared without a trace after the revived Solomon Grundy episode). And I'm pretty sure they didn't mention Batman even once in the Teen Titans cartoon, which is especially odd given Robin's history with him. Honestly, I thought those embargoes were completely unneeded. --- I often wonder if we are growing as a people... or in fact, regressing. ... Copied to Clipboard!
