You'd be earning less than minimum wage because they get part of your paycheck.

Those temps are really making like 25 bucks an hour and the agency takes most of it leaving them with 8-12 dollars an hour.

? I temped about 20 years ago and I was getting $25/hr after the agency got their cut.

Seems illegal

Not sure it works that way in my state. Most temp agencies skim a few dollars off the top but never allow the wage to go below the state minimum. Maybe some temp agencies are just that shitty, though.

It is illegal but the people in charge know that the poor cant do a damn thing about it because they cant afford to sue them

I worked at a temp agency and actually got my job at the place I was working as a temp at when the contract ended. This was my job before my current one.

I started off there as a credentialing specialist for Medicare providers as a temp and I was making $1.50 more an hour than the people who actually worked for the company. I took the full time job from the employer because like I said, the temp gig was finishing and I wanted to find something permanent.

I've used temp agencies, and I've never heard of one taking a cut out of your pay.
