And maybe something like when a pokemon is k.o., they are unusable for 24 hours.

The elite 4 are all at level 100 so you can't just sweep with an overleveled mon.

There are plenty of hacks like that, but I doubt they'll ever do an official hard game. It might work as an optional mode that imposes some extra restrictions.

Only if they went full edgelord with it and included BOOBS and SWEARING

And nuzlocke is an actual built in mode you can set the game to.

Yes.

This, however, just sounds tedious. Like either go full Nuzlock or let me hop back into the fight. Do not make me have to set the game down for 24 hours just to try again.

That is what people said about dark souls and losing their souls and runes.

Ok, maybe instead of making you wait to play have you lose some resource or something.
But the idea was realism as in the pokemon is knocked out cold and you gotta breed a big team.

Just do a Souls and heal the team partially and with diminishing returns, then treat a center like a fire.

Cut out 90% of the healing items and Bob's your uncle.

Black and White 2 had a hard mode you could unlock by beating Black 2. You transferred the key from the Black 2 to another copy of Black 2 or White 2.

You mean like how you lose some of your money? Like in every game since Red and Blue? <_<

Pokemon Legends: Arceus also takes away some of your items when you die. Though you can get them back if another player finds them.

The big key here is that Soulsborne games let me jump right back into the fight. I lose some stuff sure, but oh well, I can also potentially get it back.

I promise you nobody would play a Soulsborne game if everytime you died you had to wait to revive because realism.

So sure, let me lose money. Let knocked out Pokmon lose their current experience towards the next level. But do leave time-based cool downs for garbage gatcha games.

Legends Arceus comes close. The damage formulas are changed so that sometimes, even a Pokemon 40+ levels higher won't OHKO, and they can in turn be OHKO'd by those weaker Pokemon.

If hard mode is locked behind new game +, it might as well not exist.

It's not even New Game+; if you start over, you lose the key completely. The only way to do a new playthrough with Hard Mode (or Easy Mode) already unlocked is to trade records with someone who has already beaten Black 2 (or White 2 for Easy Mode). It's an incredibly baffling design decision.

It's an incredibly baffling design decision.

That is the standard operating procedure for Game Freak. Just incompetently stumbling their way to success through sheer momentum and luck.

Even without adding a whole other mode, they could improve the difficulty issues. I'm replaying Moon right now, and I'm so tired of running into trainers with a single unevolved Pokemon. It's just a waste of time in a game that's already notorious for wasting your time. Other than in the early game, there's zero point in including trainers that are no challenge.

Protect too much and you might die...

I'd just like reasonably well-equipped opponents, or at least a level curve that doesn't have you trying to avoid being overleveled.
