the only punch-out i ever managed to actually beat was the wii version

I didn't beat the Special Circuit, but I at least unlocked it. It's a fucking great game.

Only ever played Wii Punch-Out.

It was my childhood Punch Out game. I don't give a shit about Glass Joe. #justiceforgabbyjay

Yeah I freaking love Punch-Out. I've beaten them all (besides the arcade one) multiple times.

Also wtf!!!! How are you playing if you get to literal last second with him? I get him down in like 10 seconds, maybe 15 if I'm drunk. How are you playing? I can help!

i knew someone would mention this lol. that was my first time playing the game, i still didn't understand the controls yet. i've only played the NES punch-out, and the super punch worked differently in that game.

Never played any Punch-Out game.

No that's fine haha. It's all about dodging their attack and going left right left right punches til you build your super meter. Then you can dodge, uppercut, left right etc. Stun first before attacking until you really master them. These are basically puzzle games, it's all about solving their movesets and going to town on them. And then once you get that good, you start trying to beat your fastest time. So my best advice is to dodge, react. And pay attention to their life bars, some fighters tank headshots but are weak to stomach shots and vice versa.

Love this game and i can absolutely murder it every time with ease.

Which is funny, because i've never beaten NES punch out. I think the farthest i've ever gotten was 2nd Piston Honda fight.

Game was super hard when I was a kid

You can actually 1-hit KO 2nd Piston Honda. Just takes great dodging and timing lol

Yeah but didn't like it.

Punch out just isn't that interesting of a franchise. It's like those mobile swipe combat games where you have to read the moves of the enemy and swipe to counter and the game otherwise does everything else for you.

Played and beat the NES, SNES, and Wii games. One of my favorite series.

How are you liking it so far?

Only the first Punch Out. Never beat Tyson, but my younger brother did - which he to this day brings up at least once a year...

I remember reading somewhere that Tyson is "mad" at Nintendo over some perceived slight that happened in the early 2000s or so. Not sure what it was about. He's not a guy you'd want to have mad at you though.

Rented it a few times, I don't recall ever beating it? I know I at least got to the last guy though. I never remember if the last one is Nick or Rick. My friend group joked that if there was a third one of those guys he would've been Dick Bruiser.

Not sure what the beef is about with Nintendo but everyone entitled to their own opinions.
