but I'm still liking it a lot. Finally sucked it up and just playing the ps2 emulation on ps4.

The platforming and controls feel like KH 1's platforming, and not just any KH 1, KH 1 Tarzan's World, with the vines and the hippos. Unlike KH 1, the platforming is the core of the game rather than just experimentation.

But it's still super fun. I always knew I'd like the humor of double fine games, and yup, the game is hilarious. Plus I really like this idea of being at a summer camp and exploring the areas.

Playing around with the Psychic powers is great too. Just got levitation and it's basically a godsend, I think I pretty much will be able to get every item in the world that I couldn't before.

This games writing and humor is legit perfect. The sequel doesn't even come close imo.

Oh with how much I'm enjoying this game I'm definitely getting Psychonauts 2, I hope this time around they did the game right on ps4 and it performs well with no bugs/glitches/framerate issues etc.

It's fun using Clairvoyance to see how different characters see Raz. Like the monotone kid who tells the long boring stories just sees Raz as a giant floating ear lmao

Its a very old game and the platforming wasnt exactly great even for the time. Which makes sense since double fine didnt have much experience making platformers. Gameplay in the sequel is much smoother.

but thats not really why its so fondly remembered. Its remembered for its unique style and humor.

Psychonauts 2 is every bit as good as the original, a clear improvement in gameplay. You've got a lot to look forward to.

Played it last year for the first time. Definitely clunky, but most games from that time are by modern standards. The humor and abilities are great and I've seen a lot of good things about the sequel.

It really really is. I love these kinds of games, they make me super nostalgic of the early-mid 2000s era of gaming.

I miss the era of the B studios, when there were these games that weren't quite the big budget AAA nonsense but slightly smaller, however not so small that they were those unplayable super niche indie games of the modern era.

I loke it and the sequel a lot

I've never really liked collectathon platformers, especially not the famous ones on n64, however an occasional platformer like this one where you explore areas and collect items that help you get stronger and unlock quality of life improvements is fine, and basically right up my alley.

I'm glad it's not over yet, just found out that oleander is trying to take over the world with a brain army or something. I couldn't tell if they were intentionally making it obvious in the beginning that there's something off with him for a bait-and-switch or just playing it straight.
