His dad had like 20 kids, the mom is AWOL. The dad left to become a big shot but failed because he is a deadbeat loser who sucks.

So his dad returns and watches Brock raise all the kids but doesn't help and instead... sells rocks?

Then he "trains" Pikachu to beat his own son for some reason by torturing it.... wut

Then Pikachu is about to win , not because of the training but because he set off the sprinklers

But then Ash quits because if Brock loses... his family will feel bad?

So he leaves but Brock gives him a badge anyway for quitting and says he wants to go with Ash so he could breed pokemon... somehow

Then his dad turns up and says now he won't be a deadbeat anymore for some reason

And Brock is like "ok cool"

And that's it

Also all 3 of his rivals beat Brock off screen before hand so... wut

Then he gets turned into a doll.

Weird story

Did Brock ever actually serve any useful purpose in like, any of the storylines outside of those about his gym? Seemed like he was just there for Misty to beat up whenever he hit on the chick of the week.

also tbh Brock's OS pokemon kinda just existed, and to a lesser extent his AG ones too. His DP team is the one that actually got focus

Just go watch it. Its a James focus episode and one of a small handful of episodes that are actually really good. >_>

(James of course being the best character in the entire anime and a GOAT contender for the franchise as a whole)

Ash finds a missing person sign for a kid who looks like James .

Then a Butler in a limo kidnaps him and takes him to a mansion. Ash is overwhelmed by the mansions size until the Butler reveals that this mansion is for James' pet Growlithe and the real even bigger mansion is next door.

In the bigger mansion James parents are dead In the entrance hall (literally in caskets) and the Butler says James has 24 hours to return and marry some chick to inherit the mansions.

Ash and Co argue over whether or not they should help James, but decide he deserves to know his parents are dead.

This Is irrelevant thouhh because Team Rocket have been stalking them the whole time (Jessie was dragging James along)

Then James claims to have amnesia and the last thing he remembers was dying in the street as a boy.... Misty points out he can't have died because he's still alive.

Later its implied James made the amnesia up but its not clear why.

James doesn't want to marry the girl so he tries to run away, Jessie and Meowth beat the shit out of him and tie him up. They turn him into a human puppet and force him to re-enter the mansion and marry the girl. So they can inherit the mansions and be rich

When this happens James' parents leap out of the caskets and reveal they've been alive the whole time and the whole being dead thing was a ruse to make James come back and marry this girl

The girl then turns up and looks exactly the same as Jessie. This is irrelevant and doesn't go anywhere.

James parents want James to marry her because he is an outlaw who is embarrassing the family and she is a controlling bitch who can turn him into a gentleman

Not Jessie then takes James to her sex dungeon (Not hyperbole, a real sex dungeon) to torture him into being a gentleman

James runs away but not Jessie is in hot pursuit and has him cornered until at the last moment Growlithe turns up and saves James

There is a Jurassic Bark moment where Growlithe has been waiting for James all this time.

Growlithe chases not Jessie off and reunites with Janes. Then instead of going off together... they split up again? For some reason? I guess Growlithe wants to stay in the mansion?

The episode ends with Jessie and James shaking hands and agreeing that while they might not be rich, they'll always be free together.

Ash and Co didn't do a single fucking thing
