Aliens visiting Earth and interfering or leaving artifacts intentionally seems very, very unlikely at best. Here's the thing, though - the concept of intelligent life outside of Earth is almost certain due to sheer scale. When you say 40, or 60 years - you're basically saying we have not searched for the vast majority of human history, and only just started at all.

This matters because a lot of tech we used to search with simply isn't capable or useful of finding life in even a lot of nearby star systems.

But more important, we haven't confidentially mapped out much of our own galaxy (let alone the trillions of others) and we really only have the most broad strokes of stars/planet compositions due to limited observation ability. The best way to understand anomalies is basically via very long complicated math that is based on assumptions of positioning, a thing we can't do with 100% accuracy for certain objects within our own solar system.

What I'm getting at is that you are asking for evidence of X existing when, simply put, we have not looked at 99.999999999999999999% of planets/star systems. We can barely understand much of what it's our Solar System and we are exclusively working with definitions of life specific to Earth.

To be clear: Not talking about green men in flying saucers. There is probably no way at all to guess what other organic and intelligent life forms would look like. There's a lot of limits on the Fermi Paradox under even the slightest of pokes but scale is by far the largest because it operates under the idea that we have a good idea of the milky way when we just... don't, lol.

So when you ask "Why won't people realize aliens aren't real?" the answer is because we really, truly, have not actually looked, because adequate searching at this point is impossible.

While the idea of flying saucers bothering the cows and drawing in the crops is obviously bollocks, the odds of there not being life on any other planet anywhere else in the universe must be astronomically small.

When it comes to ghosts, there are plenty of people here who have experienced this, but not with aliens because haha aliens dont exist

I believe these peoples opinions have been heavily influenced by movies, science fiction and conspiracy theories.
Always looking out into space, what about under water? Not that I believe there are but it shows how obsessed they are with space

Are we talking about aliens visiting earth or aliens existing somewhere in the universe? I believe the second, but not the first.
