And all Putin's fault and no one else.
I once argued about this potentially being that before Putin invaded to a user here because I said it would mean China involvement. The user refused to see reason and now the horror story is beginning to unfold already.

Hopefully it doesn't but....

https://www.cnn.com/2022/03/14/politics/us-china-russia-ukraine/index.html

The US has information suggesting China has expressed some openness to providing Russia with requested military and financial assistance as part of its war on Ukraine, a Western official and a US diplomat told CNN, and is conveying what it knows to its NATO allies.
It is not yet clear whether China intends to provide Russia with that assistance, US officials familiar with the intelligence tell CNN. But during an intense, seven-hour meeting in Rome, a top aide to President Joe Biden warned his Chinese counterpart of "potential implications and consequences" for China should support for Russia be forthcoming, a senior administration official said.
The series of events underscored the growing concern among American officials at the budding partnership between Moscow and Beijing as Biden works to isolate and punish Russia for its aggression in Ukraine. While officials have said the Chinese President was alarmed at what has taken place since Russia invaded, there is little to indicate China is prepared to cut off its support entirely.
That leaves open a troubling possibility for American officials -- that China may help prolong a bloody conflict that is increasingly killing civilians, while also cementing an authoritarian alliance in direct competition with the United States.

What this means is it is potentially possible, China may in the coming months face sanctions as well.
Then it all comes down to how they respond.

But hopefully they deny Putin's request.

Now, I fully expect the Russian propaganda trolls to come up with some bs way to say "actually this NOT Putin fault at all!"
when literally he could just withdraw as he basically is failing hard right now.

The US is financially dependent upon China. Every product you buy has "Made in China" on the bottom of it. Also, Hollywood doesn't want to lose that sweet international money.

It's possible that we would be going to World War III. But it's more likely that the US would remove sanctions from Russia and let the two countries absorb Ukraine. I don't know what to say. Capitalism rules the US.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russia-asks-china-for-military-help-in-war-with-ukraine-u-s-officials-say/

Russia has asked China for support in its war against Ukraine, according to two U.S. officials. The request included military aid and equipment, but it's not clear what specifically Moscow has requested.
A U.S. official told CBS News on Monday that the request from the Kremlin to Beijing primarily concerns financial assistance, but Russia also inquired about drones. The Russians seem not to have anticipated that they or Ukraine would deploy drones in this conflict, which is one reason they are asking China about them, according to the U.S. official.
The Ukrainians have been using drones, especially Turkish-made TB2 drones, quite effectively, a senior defense official noted in a background briefing Monday. The drones are used for reconnaissance as well as strikes and have been especially effective against Russian ground movements.

China denied that Russia has asked for military aid for its Ukraine war.
"The U.S. has been maliciously spreading disinformation targeting China," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said Monday in response to the report. "China's position on the Ukraine issue is consistent and clear. We have been playing a constructive part in promoting peace talks."
Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also denied the report, telling reporters that Moscow has the ability to potential to continue a special military operation independently in Ukraine and did not ask for help from China.
"No," Peskov told reporters when asked if it was true that Russia had asked China for military assistance. "Russia has an independent potential to continue the operation, and, as we said, it is developing according to plan and will be completed on time and in full," he said.
National security adviser Jake Sullivan traveled to Rome Monday for a meeting with Chinese Communist Party Politburo Member and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission Yang Jiechi. The meeting was described by the National Security Council as a part of ongoing efforts to maintain open lines of communication between the countries.
A senior administration official told reporters the meeting between Sullivan and the Chinese diplomats "was an intense, 7-hour session."
No details were disclosed, but the official said Sullivan was direct about the deep concerns the U.S. has about China's alignment with Russia at this time and was clear about the potential consequences of certain actions.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that actions like providing military or other assistance to Russia would lead to significant consequences that the U.S. would coordinate with allies and partners.
"I think what we have and what was conveyed by the national security adviser in this meeting is that should they provide military or other assistance that of course violates sanctions or supports the war effort, that there will be significant consequences," Psaki said.

If China complies with Putin's request to give him military aid, NATO will sanction China hard like they are doing to Russia.

China will be upset and likely respond poorly.

That poorly very well could be something like taking Taiwan or a declaration of war.

Which is WW3

You won't be happy.

Your life will change completely. Even a shut in who just games all day and watches anime will have their life changed drastically. Not saying that is what you are but just showing it will touch even those who have "left" society as it were.

Can.

But will they?

I see the powers that be throwing their hands up and saying that nothing can be done about the Ukraine situation. I don't think they're giving up cheap labor to save the lives of people in a foreign country.

I don't think so. Nukes would be a last resort. But it will impact imports and exports such as video games, anime figures, etc.

I would argue that China is more dependent n The US/EU then we are on them. We can find other low income countries to make our consumer goods a lot easier than China can find 770 million(combined US/ EU population) customers.

Not how life works. China may not give him aid right away. Then once they do sanctions hit, they might not respond badly at first thinking they can wait them out or try things to get around it.

I know, and it's fucking annoying. I'm not super interested in working a bunch of OT to try and pay off my house in 2 years if I'm just going to die in a nuclear fireball, or have to go all Lord Humungus in the wasteland. I don't care one way or the other honestly, it would just be nice to know ahead of time so I could maybe cash out my 401k, pay off my house and get some traveling in beforehand y'know.

It's pretty wild that Russia is doing so poorly in a localised conflict with a relatively weak neighbour that they've been forced to ask China for military aid.

Russia really inherited one of the most powerful armies in the world then just stagnated for 30 years.

Covid may have just saved the world.

This timeline is unreal.

COVID cases are soaring in China at the moment. Just 2 days ago Putin requested military aid from China.
China might decide possible sanctions as COVID is soaring is a terrible idea and refuse to help Putin.

This would prevent WW3 and Russia will further fail.
