Gohan would have been able to defend himself and beat Radtiz. Future Goten was not able to defend himself against Goku Black because he was weak. He was weak thanks to Chi Chi rules. Future Gohan was not able to defeat C17 & C18 thanks to Chi Chi rules. He never got to learn or train with Goku at all. Seems Chi Chi rules are more of a hinderence. The bad guy were able to defeat or kill Chi Chi son was thanks to her rules. Bulma proves not only she is a good wife but also is a good mother. Vegeta for all his faults choose wisely for who he went to bed with and later kept as a spouse. He seems like he's a nice enough guy who cares about people and his friends, he's just extremely irresponsible. The kind of guy who shouldn't get married and have kids because he'd be an awful father. Not a hero? I'm not sure I'd even say he's not a hero; he has shown in the past like in the Red Ribbon army stuff that he will go out of his way to help people sometimes. If you compare him to like, Superman, a guy who lives to serve, no, he's not a hero.
