If people believe that about Ahmed and Warrior, why not Ridge?

This was an opportunity to legit work audiences.

When you know two wrestlers have heat with each other in real life, or you think that they do, it adds intrigue. Who is going to put the other guy over? Will liberties be taken in the ring? etc.

Ridge can say when Big E gets back that he didn't really mean it when he apologized, but we'll all know it's just the character speaking. It might still be entertaining, or at least more so than the current WWE product, but there was a chance to legit pull the wool over the audience's eyes.

Big E is a cool dude

This really sucks :(

You never truly 100% recover from a broken neck. This is going to shortern his career/life even if he does return

Mr. Socko was something Mick Foley came up with (and Al Snow named). Sometimes, it helps to let the people doing the work come up with some of their own shtick.
Kofi and Woods coming in to visit E, and drunken Sheamus and Ridge are already there, would be Mr. Socko all over again.

What a very sloppy shop and bring in a sloppy wrestler from an even more sloppier shop, and this is what happens.
