That's crazy. Have any of you guys been to ER and had to wait forever?

My mom went to the ER around thanksgiving, right around when Delta was picking up all over the place, and she had to wait like 4 hours but the next closest hospital allegedly had like a 12 hour wait.

I havent been to the hospital since I broke my back ten years ago. I broke my big toe a month or two after that and just went to an urgent care clinic. Theres a pretty decent chance I actually broke my foot in October, but I had to drag my foot around for a few months until it got better. The point is that it costs way too much. It should be free for EVERYONE, but the fact that the government hasnt stepped in to put a stop to the prices that the hospital/insurance company charges you is proof that our leaders are willing to sacrifice the financial well-being of an entire generation as long as it means more money coming to the top.

I've waited six or so hours before, probably more.

Gall bladder infection, felt like trying to digest a baseball.

I've also walked into a busy city ER on a weekend evening and had a bed within fifteen minutes.

While the FastPass was convenient it really wasn't particularly more pleasant than the weight, comparatively.

Naturally. They refused to let me have Obamacare even though I had no income. Their reason for denying me was that my income was too high. When I called them out on it they said that they think my parents have enough money to help if theres an emergency.

Im 33 and my parents could legally tell me good luck with a medical bill. Why should my parents have to sacrifice their retirement to pay an unfairly high medical bill? Why should my brother and I have to sacrifice our inheritance because the hospital wanted $180,000 for a plaster cast and five hours in the waiting room.

Had to wait 13 hours in the emerg wait room. I was seeing double and unable to walk properly, but they'll just leave him hoping for the empty rooms ge can see from his seat.

Doesn't matter. He's not a clinician, it's just paranoia. If he had gone to urgent care first, he would have been seen by now and if it was decided it was an emergency, urgent care would then send him to ER and he would be seen immediately

No, but i work in Healthcare. The majority of folks that go to ER, should be going to Urgent Care first. Part of our utilization management strategy is to have the ER send cases (like this) to the urgent care so they can be seen quicker and a decision can be made.

My daughter was two at the time and was running a super high fever and having seizures. We got put in a room in the ER around 11pm, and couldnt leave until 6am. They had a drive-by in a nearby neighborhood where 5 dudes were shot on their front porch and transported all of them to our ER. Cops locked it down and doctors all went to working on them. We got a nurse every 30 minutes to make sure the fever wasnt spiking again.

At this point, might as well stay and wait at ER (since its already been over 5 hours), but good for future reference. Also, copay at urgent care will always be cheaper than urgent care.

Lots of information are readily available. That doesn't stop people from doing things they aren't sure about. What a silly logic.

And I'm not using this place to gather info. I was merely asking if others have experienced a long waiting time at the ER. The information was given to me without asking. LMAO

My one cousin went to the ER over severe head pain. He waited about 4 hours and no one saw him. He ended up leaving because he was going to be late for work. He died shortly after getting home. Brain embolism I think. It's been about 15 years now.

Work in progress, please be patient.
