It looks p great.

I want to play it, but I'm afraid I'll be forced into the sim aspect just so I can have stronger characters.

It's really good, but the monastery drags and it has some rough edges and signs that it definitely wasn't ever actually finished.

It's better than Awakening and Fates. That about covers compliments.

It's both really good and a bit "eh." The monastery dragging on is a major part of it as you are kind of stuck in it for extended periods just chatting with everyone as your downtime between missions yet it inherently isn't all that engrossing. On a second playthrough you can largely ignore it but for the first run you kind of cripple yourself if you don't go ham.

Otherwise it's just a better version of the modern style of Fire Emblem (Awakening forwards). If you're into tactical games it's a pretty easy must-play.

The game is very forgiving in that regard, especially on normal difficulty

It's very good for exactly one playthrough, then all of the shit you brushed off the first time comes to gnaw at you for every subsequent playthrough and it just gets worse and worse and worse.

I think it's fantastic. I don't really care too much for the school stuff, but that's the only thing I don't like and lots of people like having more to do

My girlfriend loves it, she's been playing it for a couple of hours every night ever since she bought a Switch. I haven't tried it, myself, though.

Been wondering as well, only played awakening but cant bring myself to play perma-death mode

If you don't care about that, you can just press Start and skip all the dialog in the game. I mostly skip every single story in Fire Emblem games, tbh

I liked it a lot. 9/10 probably

You really don't need to overly bother with the Monastery stuff in Normal/Hard mode.

Gameplay-wise the game is really solid. It's characters are also better than Awakening or Fates.

You do if you want to train them. You need to eat with them to give them back their motivation. It's quicker than running around giving out Gifts. You can't really train things like Flying and Heavy Armor without teaching your students

But like you literally don't need to do that. Normal/Hard are easy enough that you can get by purely on in-battle experience and goals.

Besides if the only monastery thing you are doing is meals than it isn't exactly a time suck.

It's fun until it's tedious and easy.

I miss my weapon triangle >_<
