You guys do understand that just because Ukraine is captured that this doesn't mean Russia "won," right?

This is a huge loss for Russia. They will be hit harder with sanctions and will become even more isolated.

Also, installing a Russian puppet regime and expecting it to go smoothly would be deluded.

Especially after said puppet regime legitimizes and recognizes Russia annexing crimea and eastern Ukraine.

So let's say Russia "wins", there's no going back. The world won't lift sanctions. It'll get more and more tense until someone flinches and we're all dead

If russia successfully folds the government, by what metric does that matter when the end result is going to be ukraine with thousands of dead, completely fucked infastructure, and in the best of situations an insurgency situation dragging it down for decades as it attempts to recover?

Go look up what the Russians did to Grozny. This is what they are going to do to every city that refuses to surrender. They aren't going to be dumb enough to go in and fight street by street.
