Why is it 3D? That's so weird

The movie being CGI is still weird to me.

This one mostly just seems strange. Like it's about Gohan and Piccolo, seemingly...which already makes it atypical. It's seemingly full-CGI, which is a first for a Dragon Ball movie. And it's got villains that feel more like Dragon Ball/Filler villains.

Idk, I don't know what to make of it.

The last three movies have had CGI, but this one does appear to be almost 100%. It is a bit jarring, and will be even more so than the art style change from Resurrection F to Broly.

I'm just worried they're going to adapt it into 10+ episodes if the TV series returns (at least it'll be in proper animated form then).

It's an interesting take, finally something other than the fanschlock that's been dominating for far too long now. I mean, this is also obviously fan service, but it's the Legends: Arceus of Dragonball, rather than Super God Saiyan Green 5 Ultra Goku (and also Vegeta).

How bad the power scailing is in the manga this is honestly nothing weird in DBS nowadays.

It looks slightly better than the first trailers, but you could still believably tell someone its a video game trailer. I hope this is a one and done deal if theyre gonna keep doing movies because they need to massively refine the technology before its anywhere near appealing. But advancements in this area seem to be nonexistent.

Right, but it doesn't really show him doing much of significance. All the major focus is on Gohan and Piccolo. For the most part, Goku is only shown training on Beeru's planet. There's also like a one-frame shot of Broly in the trailer. I think based on the footage released so far, though, it's gonna be Gohan, Piccolo, and Pan vs. whatever evil group those gray alien guys are part of. I think those guys might be androids? Idk

Pan in DBS flew to the thinnest part of the earth's atmosphere as a baby while carrying three children (pilaf and gang; maybe around 150 pounds total). she should easily be able to beat up that RR fodder dude!

In order to block that attack he needs to burn at least 3 million power levels. So transforming into ssj is natural thingvto do as a saiyan.

I think it will focus everyone. Trailers can be confusing

I just don't see any of the major heavy hitters having a big role in this. It seems like a local Earth conflict more than anything. All of the significant action scenes have been with Gohan and Piccolo. Dragon Ball isn't exactly known for their subtlety when they release trailers. We knew about Golden Frieza well before RoF came out.

All the emphasis on Gohan and Piccolo makes me think the focus will be Gohan and Piccolo. I know, weird take.

Yeah, but his involvement in the main conflict wasn't surprising. I'm sure there's at least one or two big moments coming that won't be in the trailers or even hinted at, but...

I don't think this one is going to have a major focus on Goku, Vegeta, or Broly, despite all three of them appearing in this trailer. Most likely, that scene in the rain is more or less the final scene, where Gohan shows up after some preparation and pep talking--wearing Piccolo's attire once again, like in the Cell Games, the last time he was a major character--to kick some major ass.

We might see Gotenks, which would be amazing, and we might have a third-act arrival of Goku and/or Vegeta and/or Broly just for some flashy fanservice, but...

Clearly the focus of the story is Gohan, Piccolo, and Pan against these new earth-made villains.

Edit: Also, after watching this trailer a few times to look for clues...I'm kinda growing to like the CGI style they're using. I don't want it to replace their normal animation by any means, but it's growing on me quicker than I expected it to.

Prediction: In the post-movie staff interviews, we'll learn that Piccolo's skinlines disappear in his super mode because it was some technical issue.

oh btw, can anyone find that one poster for the movie? With Piccolo and Gohan standing together, semi-back to back?

The japanese voices for Dragonball are fucking awful.

It does look like a big step down compared to the art in DBS: Broly.
