You perfectly summed up why this website has been dying, especially during 2020 and 2021 when politics got out of control. The account I'm using now was created during December 2005, however I had been silently lurking on this website years before that. Everything was a lot more fun PRE-2020 on this site. Once 2020 hit, things on this site started getting bad and many users started permanently leaving because if you have to walk on eggshells on freaking message boards then there is no point to using message boards. A lot of other users have said in various topics that they have been moderated far more during the last two years than they have during the rest of their 10 + year history on this website. That's not good. I've also been noticing A LOT more "GameFAQs user ______ has been SUSPENDED" topics lately. Shit like that permanently drove a lot of people away from using this site.

A lot of mods here are woke and came down hard on posters that were offensive or counter to their narratives the past two years like a lot of places on the internet. It became a bad place for discussion, making jokes and having fun. Simple as.

I generally prefer a less-moderated forum, but I still post here out of habit and familiarity.

That's not what gets you modded. I've seen plenty of people point out that there's biological differences between someone AFAB and someone that transitions. People get modded when they take it too far and use it to justify disgusting, hateful behavior. Or when they bring up shit that just isn't true. And that's not even guaranteed to get you modded

The lengths some of you will go to in order to justify your behavior with "it's everyone else who's gone soft and sensitive, there's no way I could be the one with a problem!" on this little corner of the Internet is bizarre

What the hell are you talking about, there are tons of right wingers in every single thread here. People who try to post socialist opinions are usually shot down, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone try to argue for communism. This board is extremely centrist, at most center-liberal
