If you're not planning to play Scarlet/Violet then you don't really need to vote in this poll anyway, so don't bother asking where the "Pokemon sucks" option is.

This is also based on day one first impressions, so there's no option for "waiting to see the rest of the evolution line".

Personally, I'm leaning towards Quaxly.

I've pretty much always picked grass regardless. So a cat is fine too.

*The only time I didn't pick grass, was when I picked Torchic.

I'm going to wait until I see the fully evolved forms and their type combinations before I make a choice. If I had to choose between the 3 we see there, Quaxly is my favorite.

Probably red-totadile. Looks like it has more personality than green-litten or ducklett.

I mostly choose fire unless I hate it (Incineroar, Emboar), although I think Sprigatito looks amazing. I'm fully expecting them to pull another Incineroar on us though and instead of a cool looking quadrupedal cat as the third form we get more furry fodder.

I always pick the Grass starter on fiest playthroughs... But I really want Fuecoco though...

I'll probably start up both versions at the same time and trade over starters so I can have both...

I actually kind of see it as either a bootleg Wario hat, or a happy ghost with a boner

idk, based off all we know, I'd pick the cat. but if fire type is lacking in game, I'll take the little crocodile

Although it looks a bit dumb. Fire Croc. I think itll evolve into a massive flame reptile

But I find it hard to imagine anyone wants the duck

The Grass one is usually what I start with, so its probably my first choice.

Up until we see the final evos and it turns out they all look like furries. Then I'm keeping them in the weird middle stage I guess.

Meow-Leaf, is my choice if the evolutions are good - or the Fire-Gator if not.

I actually like all 3 of them, and would have to wait for final evos to actually decide. First day impressions though I feel grass cat has potential. Water duck might be neat too. I feel like fire croc is too goofy looking for my taste.

I always choose fire, but do to the weight being twice as heavy and the description saying it goes at it's own pace, the final evolution is going to be slow and bulky. And slow, bulky fire types don't do well at all. I can't name a decently bulky one outside of Heatran off the top of my head.

Water/Flying is too common a typing. Pelliper with drought is better for the ability, Gyarydos is a top tier Pokemon every gen and Swanna is trash. Looking like the cat is the default option to pick as it isn't easily replaced by options we already have. Sceptile, Hisuan Electrode, Whimsicott are the only fast grass types. Leafeon and Roserade have decent speed as well so this'll be something that isn't easily replaced and might actually be useful because of it.

I think for one gen they should do a Grass/Rock/Ice series of starters

I'd prefer flying/rock/fighting.

I usually go with water, but as of now I'm liking Fuecoco.
